agreed, Ive been in love with the top tier Impreza's for years. I put off buying
an RS when I found out the WRX was comming to America, then when it did I
had to choose between it and school. (I chose school).

Poor choice my man. i would have taken a wrx over college anyday. If i could go back i'd have spent my $30,000 on the wrx and community college.

nah, go to college now, then you can make enough money to buy all the wrx's you want

I have been to college but sometimes i think it wasn't worth the money because i still have to get my masters which is even more money and then my doctorate$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

The FD is a poor choice if it's your only car. I would not reccomend it as a daily driver.
The legacy is good looking, but it's heavy and will never be as nimble as either the wrx or the rx8.

A base, 6-speed, rx8 is a good choice. It's under warranty, it's great on road coarses, and it's NOT 12 years old. Take note: I don't even like the 8 much, but I would consider it about equal to the wrx as a daily on your list.

If you plan on keeping the p5 and just purchasing another car.. then a project FD will be a wonderful choice, albiet expensive and time consuming. Perhaps that is exacltly what you're looking for:)

Good luck with your choice and keep us informed.

The LGTs are sweet. My friend just picked one up. More refined and less "boy racer" than the WRX, with even more power. I'm a sedan guy so it would be a no-brainer.

I don't care for the looks of the RX-8. However, during that "Rev-it-up" event Mazda was doing a few months ago I test drove a 6-speed on a little coned off course. The Mazda guy said to take it easy. I flew through the course and had a blast as my brother-in-law was screaming while riding shotgun. I hit redline a couple of times and yanked on the e-brake a few times. Unfortunately, there was another Mazda guy watching and I got yelled at when I finished. I hit a few cones and almost caught the car in front of me. I didn't do it to be an ass or disrespectful. I did enjoy the hell out of it though.

Indeed it is. I have a soft spot for the LTDs and this is my 2nd one. The first one I owned had a mild 5.0, and I knew the owner of this one (Jefferson) and helped him build it up a bit. He decided to get rid of all his projects and offered it to me at a price I couldn't refuse.

I've done a bunch of mods since the magazine article. More details HERE. Also, the owner of my previous LTD has a page HERE.

Mopar Or No Car J/k.
But If I Was Considering A New Car It Would Be On The Top Of My List.

umm...FD3S will probably give you quite a bit of problems in the long run...vacuum hoses crapping out on you, apex seals getting stuck, turbos going...blah blah blah

somthing reliable as hell probably...whatever i dunno. i would probably say WRX STi or RX-8. RX-8s love dancing on the track. okay, RX-8 simply because you'll feel much better once you've taken yourself around a corner feeling like a champ.

I still say a C6 vette or a GTO...I mean if you work for chevy you prolly get a mad discount on those things...I would take advantage of that to get into a nicer car that you might otherwise not be able to afford ;)
