Thanks to everyone that post this site ...I was able to get good info on the 5 and after all research I bought a new 08 Mazda 5 ,a copper red and tan cloth sport model with a manual . I have enjoyed every minute . First tank of mixed driving was 28 mpg... not what my 1st generation xb did (36-40) but darn good for a vehicle thats 1000 # heavier and a couple of feet longer. This will be a good hauler for grandkids , bicycles, and big dogs. Looking forward to many miles!! Thanks

Welcome! 28 mpg is pretty good for mixed winter driving... wait till it warms up a bit, I got about 34mpg last summer on a conservative tank. Anyway, you'll enjoy 'er, 18k miles on my 07 and still drives like a dream (drive)
