hey guys..
im new to forums and just had a question for the ms3 owners...

im 18,a full time student in college in ct..im looking to get into a ms3 (want the gt)..i was wondering how much the majority of you guys got ur cars for and how much your monthly payments are..i dont want to be nosy but i just want to no what im getting into lol...thanks alot!!!

Between car payment, insurance, and gas (not including maintenance, modding, etc) the car easily costs me about $850 a month.

$400 car, $150 insurance (spotless record), $300+ in gas easy

Start adding oil changes, tires, long trips, mods and it's gonna be more. Good luck! I had to wait to graduate college and get a real job before I could drive something that wasn't falling apart......

Man, I would not want to be 18 and pay for a speed3 insurance. WOW... Anyway, I am 38 so that plays big. $350 payment $89 insurance monthly.

24 years old. insurance is really closer to $130, but if I put $150 into my savings, then when my insurance payment is due twice a year, I've got over $100 just hanging out :D Can't wait for 25 when it drops again

I'm 18 and my insurance is roughly $185/month. That's with about a grand of discounts, and being a girl. It is only $4 more then my base RSX was though... If you're a full time student, working to pay for the car might be a bit of a pain unless you have a pretty hefty down payment.

I earned about $100 a week during college working weekends, no other time, and sometimes less from weekend rehearsals for operas and things. if you aren't making a payment now, wait. you don't need another bill

thanks for the replies guys and girl lol..i get what everyone is saying..i have a job that i get 9.50hr for and about 48 hrs bi-weekly..called me spoiled but my dad pays insurance now so i wouldnt really have to worry about that..im planning on putting around 5 grand for the car..any new suggestion?lol...

25500 out the door. 08.5 GT

274 per month
100-200 insurance per month
200-400 in gas per month

PLus ur gonna want to mod it.

I'd look at 600-1000 a month to keep this puppy moving. but TOTALLY worth it(nana)

as far as mods go..i know i would want to but i know id wait a while..jus do full exhaust..suspension blah blah..my friend is the same age as me..has 2007 wrx limited that cost about 30 sumthin out the door..hes upgraded it to get about 300whp plus other mods and pays his ow payment monthly..all while being a full time student and only working fri, sat, sun at ihop..so its deffiently do-able..guess its just a matter of being disciplined..

You say you're gonna wait to mod, so did I.... now I am 6 months in with tons already on it. If my bills didn't start fighting back, I was about to have a FMIC too!!

As for mods, I think lots here would agree that a tbe or cbe is a waste of money. Unlike other turbo cars, our exhaust is pretty much straight through as it is and only nets you 5 horsepower for $600or more. Spend that $600 get a nice bump in volume and lots of power from a downpipe racepipe combo.

If you have job security and really want the car, I say sure go for it. If I were in your shoes though, I would wait. Spend a few grand on a nice Integra or something like I did, don't run with a payment, enjoy modding. Besides, there will be something faster than the MS3 for the same price when you get out of college

yea true..but ever since i saw the red ms3gt,lowered, black rims with the red lip..ive been obsessed lol..its like a fat kid seeing a chocolate cake..such a tease lol..

I've been obsessed with getting boosted since I started racing with my Integra. Got a ride in a built boosted 11 second civic hatch, that was crazy. I've been boost crazy since that. I ran against a twin turbo 350z just for the fun of it. That was a crazy fast car too.

go after your cake fattie.... I sure did :D

Paid $21,500 OTD for my '08 Cosmic Blue GT. It had 8,900 miles on it. I'm 31 and my insurance is about $58 a month. Paid cash for the car. Had some money in savings and sold my WRX for $14,500.

yea theres always that route..ive been a handa hatch that was built.tuned and dynoed at around 450whp..rediculously(sp?) fast and my cousin has a built scion tc with a gtr40 turbo..when the boost is up..puts down around 500 or so..so ive been in cars that are so fast you dont even feel the siht coming out your a$$..but i like the look of the ms3..its fast enough for me too..

so far it seems that the majority of the the cars you guys n girls have were bought brand new...i wouldnt mind a used one aslong as its pretty much stock..but then again it would most likely be from a private seller and would have to be payed in full rather then payments..

Dont get the GT. Dont know where you are but have heard horror storys about those auto wipers. No thanks! Find an 08 speed Sport left on a lot (plenty here in Michigan), TTL OTD would be around 22500 with 0 miles on it. 5k down would make a 17500 loan, not to bad.

that doesnt sound too bad..plus im sure the prices will drop a bit more as this move wouldnt be done for about another 5-6 months..i appreciate everyones input!

I'm 21 in college. My payment is around $400 and my parents pay for my insurance (I gave them a car, so I figure it's fair) and gas is pretty expensive since I travel to school. Good luck. My advice is to save money for school.

The auto wipers are fine, duder. You only heard horror stories from ijits who didn't know you can turn them off, lawl. I love mine, especially during those freak T-storms where it'll sheet one second and dribble the next. The wipers keep up with whatever the pace is pretty well.

lol..wipers dont make much a difference..400 is a bit steep..how much did u put as a dp?..school is payed for...
