New A-pillar and gauge

So I got my boost gauge installed last week, along with my custom pillar, built by OrangeMSP on this forum. Here are a few pics I snapped:

(too lazy to make these work, you have to visit the page :P :D ).

Anyway, the pillar looks awesome, although its a bit dirty, I ordered some vinyl cleaner. O built the cup out of fiberglass, and had a shop cover it in vinyl to match the color of the factory pillar. It was more than a regular cup from autometer or similar, but its kinda unique (I'm in jersey, he's in texas, I doubt i'll see anyone else with one anytime soon, especially considering i've never even seen another MSP on the road...). As you can probably see in the one pic, I did kind of a crappy job cutting the hole for the gauge, so its not perfect, but that is my fault, not OrangeMSP's, in case you were thinking of contacting him to make you one. He was great to deal with by the way, and I'd highly recommend if you want a nice well made and unique piece of kit. The only problem is that I broke the crap out of one of the pieces of plastic that holds the pillar to the door, so i had to use the one from my old, regular pillar. This is because since the vinyl adds some thickness to the pillar, it didn't quite fit back behind the rubber without some coaxing. Again, this was my fault for not taking my time more ...

The gauge is an autometer C2 boost/vac gauge. Electronic too. Its pretty nice, glows a back-lit blue at night (no pics of that yet, i'll have to get some, its nice!) doesn't really match the dash, but its kinda cool. It even flashes along with the rest of the gauges when you arm/disarm the alarm...

So let me know what ya'll think ....

Looks good, maybe a little off color on the light side but that could be the picture. I'm trying to decide on gauges right now, and this pillar is a good look. I have to get in touch with Orange...where in Texas are you at?

Peace...(hippy)

THANKS! located in Austin PM me if you all intrested in one can cover them in any color you want. Looks good with that gauge in there Stepson

Looks great stepson. I'm thinking about an A-pillar pod, and that picture is exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks for posting it. Unfortunately Orange's pod (while excellent quality) is too rich for my blood. I just can't justify spending more on the pod than I did on my FP reduction kit, MBC, Gauge Rings, and Boost gauge combined! But it looks great. Good job!

A lot. $200 from egauges.com. But it looks kinda cool, and the electronic gauges from greddy are the same price so i figured ... what the hell. :)

Macs rule :). Off topic, but what the hell. I have 450Mhz G4 Cube. We peaked at computer building with this little guy ;).

I love the cube! I wanted one so bad when I got my G4 (same generation) I have a dual 450MHz tower... I couldn't justify the price/performance ratio of the cube. This summer sometime I'll be trading in for one of the new 12" Powerbooks...

Yea, I got the cube used, so it was slightly more affordable than a new one. No problems to report after over a year of continuous use either. Awesome computer ...

Can't wait for whatever happens at WWDC, although I'll be on vacation ... torn between relaxing on the beach and dialing in to see what Jobs announces.

Those 12inch powerbooks are sweet!
