NEPOC'ers hit the slopes?

A season pass for night skiing is only $379. A good deal as long as you go once a week from Jan-March.

Looks like they have a new quad since the last time I was there (14 years ago lol)...but no new expert trails (and the ones they have aren't all that difficult anyway.

It's a great mountain for top-to-bottom cruising and their snow making was pretty good 14 years ago and I imagine it is better now.

Yeah, they have 2 high speed quads and a triple in the new area.

good place to go at night from 6-10!

I KNOW I KNOW.

I was swimming/lifting every other day with no pain up to the event. I def wasn't ready to get out there. My competitive nature gets me into trouble sometimes.

At least I can work the clutch now I was getting really concerned I wouldn't be able to drive for awhile. But I'm healing quickly (not as quickly this time around) I'll just have to make sure I ease back into it.

So my first snowboard trip it would be wise to go somewhere local and less expensive to make sure I can "ease" back into it!

Woah, they used to just have a triple going to the summit..and it was slow as s***.

yeah, that was a long ride on those cold nights! now they put about 3 times the skiers on those 3 trails from the top! You don't want to be there on the weekends!

Best price is if you buy the century pass before october, its like 180 bucks.

But ya the mountain isn't difficult but its good enough to keep you going.

As long as you don't go on dryspells in January/February because without real snow, it just super icy up there. Probably like that up there now. Lets hope for some real snow before we go.

Zimmer - as far as boots go, i have some cheap burton boots that have worked really well for a few seasons now. They were like 130 bucks I think. They are comfortable and way better than my old boots (Northwave, but super old. They actually look like duck boots, the rubber on the bottom and leather on the sides. Ya that old. haha)

haha... i came from burton boots to northwaves. i think the thing is that the boots just get old and worn. Where I used to have support the padding is not sufficient now and my feet hurt and they don't keep me as warm. I'll have to look around. But I gotta get my knee back together first!

actually given my recent knee injury i'd prefer to start off somehwere local maybe pay for a half day or a night to just test it out earlier rather than on one of the big guys up north.

Zimmer, you may want to take a ride to Blue Hills the next time it snows. It will save you the trip out to Watchusett.

So maybe we should commit a date for our Watchusett night. I'm thinking early January. MOnday-Wednesday works best for me so how do people feel about Jan 5-7 or Jan 12-14? I'm game for any of those nights. We could also do a Sunday evening if that works better for people.

i learned to ski at BH...watchusett was like home it was so close and robin was still learning..

i have a pair of northwave's which I love. they're old and worn out and they hurt my feet. soar feet makes for a bad day of skiing!

any suggestions for snowboarder?

I got Salomon boots this year, and they are awesome. The lacing is really slick and the fit is great. They also offer wide versions of some of their boots. I have ridden many brands, and am quite impressed with most of their line. They are also really light.

Someome is ready for skiing this year!

I know I'm not up there, but I do have a protege, and I did get out on my snowboard Saturday. It was pretty fun for midwest hills. Cute kids Protege5.
