NEPOC Event: Meet/Dyno-Day 6/4/2005 OFFICIAL.

i dunno, for questionable numbers, 10 bucks a head for an unfortunately unorganized meet at a state park........meh?

I could be wrong, but based on how meets usually go I would expect significantly less people since the dyno part fell through. Few enough so that we could all just drink/bbq/foosball/etc at my place? i dunno. Im sure we could think of a lot to have a meet in, or meet up somewhere to all go cruise some nice roads, but to pull a whole meet together that makes it worth it for the out of staters to come down im just not sure.


How about this.... We meet off exit 69 of 84 East and I can lead us around some excellent twisties, and down some scenic roads. Not neccesarily flying through everywhere but a nice drive....We could meet there at like 10am or 11am and then take about 2 hours to cruise around winding up at my place in meriden (assuming of course we have small enough numbers) at which point we could commence the bbq/hang out part.....maybe stop by a grocery store on the way and everyone can pool the 5 bucks a pop they were going to pay for the dyno meet food and we can buy beers and foods.

Starts closer to MA,NH,ME people and farther drive for southern CT people but winds up the other way around so its about even?

i dunno, just floatin an idea out there. We need to decide soon though as not all people check the forums on a friday night :)

Argh.... This SUCKS. 75 bucks down the drain for the hotel. Spent 4hrs cleaning the car. Spent 54 dollars on good gas. Went out today and bought 3 more 20oz. Co2 bottles....

Where's New England Dragway? Maybe I will head out there..

I hope you can get money back from the hotel. Its more than 24 hours notice so you should be able to right?

i dunno man. I was tihnking the same thing. Its so weird that it would go from one excuse to another like that thats all. Hopefully he's not lying but as soon as you posted that earlier I was thinking it sounded fishy myself......you said you had been there before and met him and he was a cool guy though so hopefully its all on the up and up. Maybe he will come back at you after the weekend with some super deal since he knows he screwed our plans we had made months in advance.
 
slug/big chris i like your idea about the cruise/dive and bbq and what not sounds like a good alternative...if all goes well ill wash and wax the car tomorrow...but who knows! anyways could we meet up earlier at your place and caravan over to that exit? idk if there are anymore good ideas?
 
It's not more than 24hrs. Check in was supposed to be 8pm. I already did the online thing to cancel, but I am going to call them in a minute. I'm half tempted to drive by the place saturday to see if there open.

Argh.... New England Dragway is closed Saturday...................

could be down for the drive and bbq... was tryin to make other plans, was thinkin of just drivin up to n. conway and toolin around nh, and drivin on some twisties out that away... will check in tomorrow and go over things with my friend and see what he is down for.... how far down 84 is 69? only like 20mins or something from the mass pike right????

yeah, 20 mins sounds about right.....since it is going to be a nice day tomorrow I am still up for hanging out and doing something. i am sure many of us are bummed over this whole thing. it has been kind of planned for like two months, just to fine out 36 hours before the actual date that it is canceled.

well, i still have the whole day open. i might be able to go for a bike-ride in the morning now?

I just wanna chill somewhere.. I'm driving almost 6 hours to get there!!!! I like just hanging out at a park or something..
 
maybe we can do a last minute switch to bristol dyno. There are enough of us to make it possible. It would be worth it for another shop to hold this meet.

Im out for the day so i can't call and I will be late but i think bristol Dyno is in same area as your place right. within maybe 30 miles.

Has anyone given them a call?

Suggestion: the weather sucks and we don't have a dyno. Kibash the whole thing, and we stay home. Once this guy is done with his funeral business, he has us come back to his shop and give us a discount for the change in plans. Set it up for sometime in July to give everyone time to plan.

I don't see why this guy would make anything up in order to have us not come. He owns a business, and we are customers. This lost weekend is money out of his pocket.

Some of us, including myself, are coming a long way (2+ hours) to do this. If we have no dyno and the weather sucks, I still want to come, but I probably won't, as I'm getting ready to move and need to pack.
 
i can tell you right now bristol dyno needs the cash so they will probably say hell ya as long as they dont have another one already planned.
