NEPOC Event: Meet/Dyno-Day 6/4/2005 OFFICIAL.

i am up for something the sunday after dyno-day! i was thinking about going kayaking, but there are soooo many options coming up????

Thanks Mark...I was up until 12:30 last night putting it together (took the pictures on my way home and got a second wind when I sat down at the computer)

We play all sorts of stuff. This concert we'll be playing mostly standards. We were rehearsing an extended version of "In the Mood" last night. That has got to be one of the most difficult songs to play...yet it sounds so effortless. Our book has got over 300 charts so I honestly can't tell you what they are. Our conductor likes to do theme concerts so we've got some fun stuff like "The Jetsons" and the theme from "Monster's Inc." but we've also got some of the classics. One of my favorites is a Buddy Rich arrangment of "Love for Sale". We have a handful of vocal charts too.

nice.....that will ne a nice project to start working on!

well basically the plan is as follows:

Buy turbo book soon...
Work at pool compnay and save/accumulate money
Save money from june birthday
Start buying parts for msp conversion and run a FMIC instead of stock, should save some money/time.
run stock boost and msp ecu for now since i want to put down stock number and have the car be reliable and safe...

after i get turbo setup and install, if anyone wants to help me install this during summer tell me, i will buy a cat back and possible SRI. and i beleive that is all for now engine wise. besides the kit i would get gauges and pods and the like to moniter everything...maybe a turbo time who knows i need more turbo knowledge before continuing in this venture.

after this i shall run forged internals if i can, possibly next summer or something so i dont bust the engine and save $$$ in the long wrong. after internals run other modifications to get more power and up boost. tune car with the eventual purchase of stand alone or unichip.

these are just some ideas though, order might change on some parts. but for the end of summer i hope to have a fully functional stock msp turbo setup in my car with FMIC. its my goal for the summer.

^^^

jealous.....wish i had the funds to attempt this. you know I am getting old, planning my wedding, looking for a house, then the woman will want kids. puts the turbo at the bottom of my list! (shrug)

i probably will own another car by the time i manage to get the time and funds to do it.....

ironically i got the "house" speach from my mother the other day. "you know your getting to that age where you should be saving for your future house instead of putting a lot of money into your car or just buying other things. it is your future and your almost dont with undergrad and then you have grad school and your future."

so i hear what you are saying. for me well i am 20, you only live once and well this is the route i would like to take. i have no other real need for the money i will be making this summer and all it would do would burn a hole in my pocket/bank account. personally i dont shop a lot, i save up money and budget really well so i have no money issues. but my car is something id like to work on and improve not for anyone but myself. i addressed the suspension issue by springs and struts and today about a short shifter and shift boot for the interior. next step for me i feel is engine, since everyone knows the protege lacks in power its something that needs to be addressed. i personally cannot afford a 3-5k turbo kit so the other most logical thing for me would be to get a msp kit and install that in the car and do bolt on/upgrades as time passes. that is the plan as of right now for the engine, the car as a project is already planned out. all i need now is time and money to full fill the plans i have for it. i will not put everything on the table but lets just say more go then show. life always takes twists and turns so ill never know where i end up with this as a project!
