Sounds tough Jeff, hope Tam feels better.

Ya, same here...does she like her coffee? I used to drink a lot and now only have two mugs a day, one a day on the weekends.

In other news, the weather is turning, we've had a great summer and fall and now the sucky weather is coming. Met with my financial advisor the other night and he's recommending I work one additional year (through 2017). He said if I do that I'll have enough liquid funds until I'm 86, then my annuity and SS will kick in.....I'm not sure about working in this job another year....and who knows if I'll even make 86? I mean I'm in good health, don't take any meds and the worse of me is some sore bones in the morning from stupid motorcycle crashes, but hey if that's the worst I have to deal with I can. Decisions, decisions!!!!

A year a your current job is probably equivalent to several years working part time at the quickie mart. So make the easy money and be done with it.

I wouldn't work the extra year. Sounds like you're not into it and life is short, you never know what's around the corner.

Yes, that salary was figured in. The numbers are all very conservative. I'm leaning towards not working another year. 20 yrs isn't a whole lot of time, but when your 61 it could mean the end of the road. My dad died at 68, both robins parents died at 75. My dad retired at 55 with a 3/4 of his reg salary on a city pension. If he had waited to 65 he would have to the full pension but only had 3 yrs to have enjoyed it!

With that family history quit now and start enjoying the good life! When times get tough, you can always start clipping coupons!

Yes she likes her coffee Mark. She only has one cup a day so we've gone from two scoops of coffee to one heaping scoop. lol

I'm with Chris and Bruce, get out there and enjoy it! The president of our local Miata club just retired earlier this summer. A month ago he died of a massive heart attack. :(

How is everyone's weekend going? Good here, spent the afternoon with Kaila. Took her lunch and afterwards we hit the bookstore, one stop Christmas shopping for the family! lol Once home Tam and I hit the stores once again. I think she's playing up this new position...saying she needs a new wardrobe and of course shoes. Hmmmmm

Smart Mark.

Had an awesome day. Autoxed with a Porsche club today and had a blast. Small field of 16 cars, half of them Porsches and the rest a mix. Ended up on top with the first run group and just got better, no one came close. 2nd year I've done that with them, not sure if they'll let me back lol.

RV park hosted a event for a songwriters convention this evening and man are these guys good. Each person played a set of 5 or so songs and have written for some big names.

Looking forward to the Pats game tomorrow.

C'mon Bruce you can't go showing up those fancy German cars in your little Japanese roadster. hahahahahaha If they are a good group of people, which sounds like they are, I'm sure they will greet you with open arms next year. In the meantime they will spend the "off season" meeting to come up with a "Beat Bruce Plan". :) Pats pulled it out there at the end. When will teams learn that even one second is too much for Brady?

Best game I've seen this season. Was a little worried more than once that the Giants would pull it off.

They are the only team that risks big against us. Eli starts throwing the ball long and it only takes one good catch to change the game. I couldn't look away the entire game. They definitely had it in the bag a few times. Quite a rollercoaster ride. Felt like a playoff game for sure.

Jeff. If you cold brew coffee it is less acidic and easier to tolerate for those with acid issues :)

You convinced me chris!

im only 30 and I support this! I am planning to not at all make my life about work. When my gf graduates school I think I will be quitting my job and going on a month+ long vacation with her around the world, then come back and find another job. I'd rather have the fun while I am young and in good health!

took long enough but we made it

I tried that traveling around the world thing for two years, decided to start my own biz instead. Well, we weren't traveling the whole time, but I did visit a bunch of countries.

I did the whole travel thing for 10 years with the Navy.

Sup! Sitting at home. Took a 1/2 day so I could pick Kaila up from school for Thanksgiving break. Getting ready to call RCN as her cable box is dead. Hoping I won't have to drive up to their facility to swap it out for another one.

Thanks Sean, never heard of that before. Looked it up and I think she just might try it.
