TGIF NEMOC!
Good to hear that most of you made out ok during Sandy's visit. Hope it works out for you guys in the end Ash....time to get a second and third quote.
We lost power Monday night and it didn't come back on until around 10pm last night. Thankfully we didn't get the expected 4-8" of rain they were calling for as the generator I pre-paid for last Friday to run the pumps and was supposed to be here on Monday didn't show up until Wednesday (blessing in disguise)!!! Spent late Monday morning and early afternoon in line at Cabelas (45 min. drive away) waiting for a truckload to come in. At 1:30 (after three hours of waiting) they announced the driver pulled off the road due to unsafe conditions and they were closing the store at 2pm. Aaaahhhhhh.... But the blessing in disguise was I was calling stores Tuesday night to see if they had gotten any LED lanterns in stock and Home Depot had just received an impromptu truckload of generators. So Kaila and I hopped in the P5 and got over there to stand in line. I fired it up at 9:30pm and ran it the last couple of days to power the fridge and keep the cell phones charged. The best part is I got a Honeywell 5500 running watt for $649 minus my 10% veterans discount. The unit I pre-paid for last week was a Generac 5500 running watt that they jacked the price up to $799 with no veteran discount. Also got the week off of work...Monday and Tuesday due to weather conditions and Wednesday and Thursday due to no power, Friday was our scheduled day off.
Would have much rather been walking on the beaches Bruce! haha I saw the Blue Angels down in Pensacola back in 1991 when I was in Technical School. Great show!
In other good random news I upgraded to a Samsung GSIII last Friday. Best Buy was running a deal of the day for $99!!! Couldn't pass it up and loving the new phone!
