NEMOC Random BS Thread

Morning folks.

Something is goofed up with the heat today at work. 62 degrees in the office.

It's getting rough down here in New London County. My coffee maker only produced 6 cups of coffee (after I put in 6 cups of water!) and my stove still worked, so the sausage and egg sandwich I made was nice and delicious. (DAMN YOU SANDY, WHEN WILL YOUR REIGN OF TERROR END?) I might turn on sportscenter soon, though if the storm has her way, that will work as expected.

what, you and the camera have a "spat"? ;)

and kick butt they did...the uk agrees with them...maybe they should play there all the time!

Nope, just no urge to take pics. Awesome game but they switched to another game in the mid 3rd. Kinda was pissed at that.

Got another cold dammit. Nothing bad just annoying. still cool down here, but will warm up again on Wednesday.

Looks like Sandy will pass south and west of MA?

Stay safe guys and girls.

Wind is blowing and rain is falling in New Hampshire but I think its worse down in Mass. Two trees down deep in our back yard, a tall one took a shorter one down when it went. Both are leaning on a 3rd that'll prolly come down before its done. No risk of anything hitting the house (yet). We still have power but my in-laws just lost their power. That's typical though, the circuit they are on goes down every storm. I wish the power company would just invest in underground wiring instead of fixing it every storm.

Hood blew off the vette, landed on the other side of the mazda and is fine, thankfully. s*** flying around everywhere outside and unfortunately nothing to cover the motor with right now. It should be fine once it dries out though.

We lost a good deal of shingles, so we spent part of the night getting totes to catch the water coming into the attic. Looks like we're going to be calling the insurance company and seeing about a new roof.

Made it through the night without losing power. Sat down to start working this morning and just lost it. I've got 10 minutes left on my UPS. It's a bit odd sitting in the office continuing to work while everything else in the house has gone dark. I got my shower in already. Amanda did not. Hopefully they're just shutting down the circuit to cut a tree out of the way or something.

Here's a breakdown of current outages in New Hampshire.

I have no power, and neither do any of the towns around me. Black = 100$ outages on the utility map, and there's a big black hole right in my county.

Wow, looks like NY and NJ were hit hard, WV getting snow. How did MA make out?

Went to see the Blue Angels practice today, was pretty awesome.

we made out ok, some minor wind damage and we lost power for 9 hours, didn't have to go to work so that was good, kept packing and throwing stuff out!

i remember going to see the blue angles at the weymouth naval air station (same place we did rev it up) back in the early 70"s...i must have taken 300 pictures with my new 35mm camera!

This is at my house. Hopefully having someone come tarp the roof tomorrow and wait for the adjuster to show next week.

Ash, sorry to hear about your roof.

My parents are in Staten Island, near South Beach area that got devastated and with major flooding. However, they are (luckily?) out on vacation, so no word yet as to whether there is damage or flooding and how extensive.

25 hours of no power and counting. No damage here, though I pray that our RI house got crushed by the old tree in back...

My office in Manhattan is another story. No power expected there till Friday, even if the subway and PATH systems are pumped out and repaired. 7th floor, no known damage, just everything needed to get there from NJ is wrecked. Co-workers living in NYC have various issues, a few are in red cross shelters. One on long island isn't far from where the big fire was.

Power was back for us by mid afternoon yesterday. At least half the town is still out and our house is one of only a few in the neighborhood not missing shingles. Halloween has been postponed until Sunday since crews are still running around fixing downed wires.
