NEMOC Random BS Thread

haha...the guy is really cool...he gets me corp cvs tickets to the cvs golf classic every year...food drinks the works! nice and funny guy!

lol....that does sound cool. Oh, hope you are feeling ok....drink hot tea! That's what Tam would tell ya. lol

Kyle, did you try negociating on the price with the local tire stores? Online is great for tire packages (tries and rims), but just tires you still need have them mounted. Most shops charge more just to mount tires. If you negociate you may pay a little more for the tire through them, but their mounting price is reduced and you may spend the same overall or even less.
Just a thouhgt.....

True for some shops....be sure to ask if they charge more to mount tires you bring in. Some shops around me will do that while the one I use does not. It's the same fee whether I buy from them or bring in my own.

I think he knows where to go to get tires mounted for a low low low charge if he only buys tires. *cough* James *cough*

Lol that's a good way to describe it.... The other day he dismounted 2 sets of 4 tires, then remounted those 2 sets on the opposite rims because I needed to swap the tires.. I helped balance them! :) But it was a pain the a$$ to do because the sidewalls are stiff on both sets.

It was all just a dream. Now back to the cold. :(

Morning all!!

Gotta get my fenders rolled tonight and get Gary's wheels back on or I'll be coming to the meet in Dozer!

Happy friday. Got to drive top down in some nice weather yesterday. Cleaning up the place for a possible buyer tomorrow.

sorry I missed the meet yesterday, was in boston for most of the day with ryan. but...in the spirit of the fall meet at mahk's, I'm replacing my rear calipers/rotors today. The driver's side was completely seized up, so the pads on that side are cracked, and a LOT thinner than the pass. side.

I replaced them about a year ago, but the ebrake stopped working about 4 months later (would engage, but wouldn't disengage).

Sooo...I'm replacing the rear brakes with Protege brakes, which should fix the issue (yes the pins can still seize, but for once that wasn't my problem this time).

Here's some pics...at the moment taking a break (brake?) for beer and lunch when Ryan gets home with supplies.

driver's side pads cracked, vs pass side.

rotors were pretty well rusted on, last time I changed these was 2 years ago.

I painted the hats so maybe they wont rust this time.

Be careful! Test mount before you buy! Bring a jack and some tools! I bought a set of 14" Camry steelies many years ago and they DID NOT clear the P5 brakes in the front. Of course, every steel wheel is different, but buyer beware!

oh yeah i am test fitting. i just need to stop by a mazda dealership to have them pull my lock lugs since my key broke. i so hope that they clear but if not... oh well

Nice Ash! In the spirit Mary and I worked on my car in the morning. Took off MS bumper and removed the Laminix film from the headlights. Oh what a nasty sticky mess that was, however mush easier to polish without a bumper on that's for sure. They look new again. Did not have time to put the stock bumper on. In fact my car is still jacked up in the garage. Lol!

Happy Halloween everyone!

not a big fan of how my brakes are acting...with the new pads, etc I can't lock them up, and the pedal feels like it goes down too far...so I think I might have the shop bleed everything tomorrow...no more taking chances.
