NEMOC Random BS Thread

Sorry to hear it Jenn. Do what I did yesterday after a really bad weekend. I took the MSM out (against my own rules) and did some ripping thru some valley roads which are quite fun. They remind me of the roads surrounding LRP.

Thanks Sean.

Well I was all set to pull the trigger on the LED LCD TV this weekend. Went in to look at it with my dad. They had the straight LCD one next to it. There was a slight difference in picture, but not a whole lot. I noticed a sign that the LCD was the last one (display model). So after a little haggling I bought the LCD (not LED) for $700 with a three year warranty. TV was originally $950 and the LED was $1300. I couldn't see spending twice as much on the LED. On amazon today buying blinds for the living room and a mount :)

Nice work!!!!! Well done grasshopper (rei)

Those roads are fun... but I've got a few equally/more fun roads out near my house (evil)

They dont' call it devil's hopyard for nothing.

Morning All!

Jenn thing of all the money you will have to spend on the car and the condo now instead :)

Ha yeah. Speaking of the condo... are you free at all this week to give me an estimate on my ceiling? Lol. Honestly I'd like a second opinion on it...

Thanks Sean.

Doing a lot of work at work today, eh?

Congrats on the TV! I still have a huge 42" tube TV. I think an elliptical is my next purchase, this lack of exercise is killing me.

A puppy would definitely cheer me up! Haha.

K...here's my chihuahuas.

This is Yoda. She's full grown...4 lbs. The sun's in her eyes...that's why she's squinting.

And this is Peanut. He's the fatter than Yoda, weighing in at 9 lbs.

I really thought about taking it out, almost took it this morning but once I've parked the 6 in front of the garage, it's difficult to bring myself to starting it to move it to get to the 8.

You are so right Sean. I used to cruise around those a few years ago. Definitely some hair-raising rides (not me driving)...

Thursday night is my only free night this week with practice and meetings.

I bought it Saturday, not today!

I think I need a bigger wall.

What size is your TV? I have my wall mount sitting in my closet because the new apartment won't let me put it up. =/

Uploaded a few photos of a recent job site to give you guys more of an idea of what I do since most of the time I'm talking about how I'm not doing anything lol

This is actually an office building. All the office equipment was moved out, the drop ceiling tiles and supports were all removed. Everything that's not getting touched/removed is covered in 2 layers of plastic (thick plastic). The entire area is completely sealed off with fresh air supplied and removed with HEPA filtered fan units. Yes, there's a guy without any protective equipment on...they're just setting things up in this photo.

Another office area in the setup phase. Eventually the plastic will go all the way up to the concrete decking.

The pipe that has steel bands around it is what they're after. The asbestos is packed around the pipe, wrapped in paper and held together with those steel bands.

A concrete support beam covered in spray-on fire proofing. This particular fire-proofing has asbestos in it. Not all do.

Me!

My job is to pretty much make sure they do everything "by the books", make sure there's no leaks in the containments (the plastic), check their work and then take air samples and make sure the air is clean enough for reoccupation. I'm a babysitter (yes)

Photo of a rock with a layer of asbestos (a naturally occurring mineral for those who didn't know) in it. You can pretty much peel it right off the rock like cotton...but I wouldn't.

Didn't think this would end up being such a long post. But whatever. Moral of the story: For your health (and others), don't do any do-it-yourself pipe/plumbing projects if the pipes are old and insulated with anything except fiberglass.
