NEMOC Random BS Thread

'06 Grand Touring w/ Nav. 75,200 miles.
I have the CPE CAI and the BPV Valve on it also, plus I might sell the winter rims and tires with it.

Okay folks I need some suggestions! I'm going looking this weekend so as many ideas as possible are welcome.
Here what I am looking for:
Truck or SUV
4 doors (so double or crew cab for a truck), I have to fit the pup with me.
4wd or AWD
Ability to tow (prefer to stay away from SUV's on a car chassy, but might entertain the idea).
USED, but not earlier than an '06
Basically I am looking for something to drive as my daily driver, but that I can also use for my weekend side work (landscaping and remodeling).

I have always liked the 4runners, tundra (my dad's on his second) and the avalache, but its been awhile since I've been in the truck/ SUV market. Suggestions welcome.

Ready...... Go!

Honda Element?

My roommate has an '05 Tacoma, which is f'ing huge. It's been rock solid. Replaced an idler pulley at 140K, the truck is still kicking at 150K with regular maintenance, not a single thing go wrong. (OK OEM headlight blew out a few months back).

So I went out to my car today and there is one of those special edition "Bumblebee" Camaros parked next to me. To be honest, it looks rather cheesy with the Autobot badging all over the place. I do like the color scheme though.

Luke,

My Dad loves his Avalanche. It's an 05 and he was considering getting rid of it when the transmission went. He bitched and got Chevy to split the bill and it cost him about $800 to get rebuilt. We were at the car show looking at all the rides. His one requirement was that it had to seat 6 adults comfortably. Not many vehicles on the market can do that. If he was going to get rid of his, he really liked the Toyota Tundra.

If you're looking to get into landscaping and what not, I don't think the 4Runner is a good choice. I would think something with a bed would be ideal. The Avalanche is big on the inside so if you don't really need seating for 6 you might want to look at standard pick-ups or extended cabs instead of full quad/crew cabs. However, the Avalanche also has a mid-gate that folds down to give you a full sized bed (obviously not on a snowy/rainy day but the feature is there for when you need to haul 4x8" sheets from Home Depot to a work site.

Just stickers. To bad Chevy did not offer the Bumblebee package with the aerokit and wheels that Bumblebee had in "Revenge of the Fallen".

I agree. I dig the colors, and perhaps the wheels...but they went a bit overboard with the badging. I imagine the car will get looks at car shows in 30 years though.

Perhaps. There's one here in Akron that has BMBLBE as a license plate. Pretentious asshole.

I tell everyone that wants one that you need to be a typical 300 lb American for the seats to even come close to fitting well. On top of that, you need eyeballs in your stomach to see the gauge cluster by the effing shifter.

Luke, I would mainly b/c i love that color, but I think I want to stay with either WWP or Silver.....and under 40k

I would love a Dark Cherry MS6. My 04 Miata was Dark Cherry.

I've never been a big fan of the avalanche. Why not look at a used f150 quad cab? They are reasonably priced, can tow stuff, and are a good size.

Hey Subspeed6, acouple of months ago I posted "Work Harder! Millions On Welfare Depend on You! as my fb status. What a firestorm it created.

I've been telling that to guys in the office for a while now. It always produces a laugh.

It's sad, but so very true. Sure there are people who genuinely need welfare, but that is only a small percentage of those benefiting from the system.

I was a fan of the new Tundra because of the commercials, then I drove my father in laws.. way too big for me I guess. You can't see much around you when you are in it. Trucks are getting way to big. The Tacoma now is the size of the old Tundra which is the perfect size for me I guess.

Out of those three I would take the 4Runner because I have always liked them too.

I loved my tacoma and it ran great with 150k miles on it before i bought the MS6. It's a little too small though. I really would prefer the full size.

I was just looking at those. The only thing that I liked aboutt he avalache was it gets better gas mileage. Its just over 20 on the highway, where the Ford is closer to 18.
