NEMOC Random BS Thread

I apologize for putting my summer tires on. Did it Friday night...now we're supposed to get snow tomorrow. :(

I hear you. I put on the front bumper, cleaned the air filter, lowered the car, and put on the summers. Supposed to get 2-4 inches tomorrow. Oh well, she will just sit in the garage till the snow is gone. Still need to swap the rear bumper. Good day though.

Ahh, no. Actually the snow is almost gone, grass mostly. Supposed to rain afterward then warm up again. I don't expect the snow to last past today.

Poor P5, how she has slipped from your meticulous care.

Morning all. Crappy Monday.

It's supposed to be nice out today. I'll be taking the MSM to work since it'll be the last time I get to drive her for a week.

It was nice to have a 3 day weekend though.

I spent the better part of this afternoon putting the shine on my Mercury. Getting it ready to trade on the CX-7. I will not miss it when it is gone.

yeah. the gas mileage on that thing has to be brutal.

even switching from a forester to a fit, I giggled when I filled it up. 381 miles, 9.1 gallons.

that must feel so great! I miss my civic so dearly now. 12 gallon tank always felt so good to fill up

Morning everyone. Nice slushy commute...blech. Soooo glad I decided to keep the snow tires on the wifes car for another week or two. I dropped the P5 off at the shop last night to get fixed so I'm driving a Saturn LS2 for the next couple of days.

roarrrrr!!!!!!

the frame ive been waiting to buy that should have been back in stock early april, has now been pushed back to mid may!

Been racing GT5 online lately against cars tuned for a specific power point level. Your pp level is determined by vehicle weight, horse power, torque, and downforce. It allows all sorts of cars to run similar lap times (usually +/- 2 seconds) but a good driver with a good car will certainly have an advantage over a good driver in a so-so car. Anyway, sometimes the racing gets ugly but occasionally you have a good run with someone like my video below. My heavier RX-8 had more power on the straight (watch me slingshot past using the draft in lap 1) but the lighter Lotus Elises could make up the time in the twisties. My RX-8 has a little high speed understeer that I need to work out but it could just be that the Elises had wings to keep them planted going around that high speed turn 2. An exciting race though! I missed a shift here and there (driving manual) which didn't help but its so more exciting and rewarding when you are in control of the gears.

Hehe you can really really tell who is using a steering wheel vs a controller stick. What happened in the end man? You and that one Lotus were dominating and then..... whoooooosh.

Well, I was dominating at the beginning because I was running a blocking line on the back stretch. Once he got by me (i bounced off the rev limiter going through the tunnel) and I didn't pass him back on the straight, I couldn't keep up through the sharp turns and the next lap I lost his draft and he was gone. On lap 5 I tried to run WOT through turn 2 to make up some ground but I went wide, got a little squirrely then had to overbrake on the next turn and drifted sideways. The drift killed my momentum and was just enough for Lotus #2 to pull up beside me. I bumped him a little but he had the inside line for the next turn and we couldn't go 2-wide. I had to let up figuring I could try for the draft and pass him at the finish. No such luck. Another lap and I might have been able to get my position back.

All in all the RX8 did well considering it weighs 400kg more than the Lotus. The performance point system isn't a perfect equalizer for every track but clearly I was given more straight line speed in exchange for weight.

The guy driving the Lamborghini Miura uses a joy stick and his inconsistency shows. At the start of lap 2 he took the outside line on turn 1 and still came out ahead of me. That car is fast but not as easy to drive.

I see 3 VRM Mazdas... Me, Josh, and Chris H. (?)

Josh is obvious since he never really strays far from his car for long periods of time.

Edit 1: Looked at picture and date.... I know the first one!

Edit 2: I think I figured it out..
