NEMOC Random BS Thread

id go up to parts of mass to get them but still didnt see a lot when searching. I think im too late for the deals because i figure people would unload them in spring when they pull them off cars after the snow has finished falling. There are a lot of listings in VT though, prob should make a trip to the vacation house if i find a set in the area up there

Kyle - Are you looking for snow tires or all season tires to use in the winter?

Snow tires don't usually last more than 3 season so be carefully looking for them used. You might not get much out of them.

IMO with front wheel drive you should be fine with a good set of all season tires and not need snow tires, but thats just my opinion.

well im putting some nankang all seasons on my new speed3s on thursday, but i was hoping to just make those a summer wheel set up.

with my last civic all i drove on were all seasons and i had no issues at all. the tires on my p5 are some runway enduro summer tires which i actually drove on last winter and dont feel like doing that again. they are losing grip in the wet so i cant imagine how they would be in the snow again.

hmmm..... If the speed3 is just for summer why not us summer sport tires on it and use the all seasons on you winter car? The summer sports will handle a lot better than all seasons.
Sorry if you went over why you're doing this already, I missed it.

Kyle...I tried selling my snow tires in March of this year. They had less than 700 miles on them and I couldn't move them on ebay and it took three postings on CL before a guy in MA found them during a google search. I happened to be going to CT so I met up with him then....this was August! Keep looking, something will show up.

Luke...I'll agree with you on the all-seasons but only if they are non-performance. I had Kumho ASTs and they were horrible the second winter I had them with roughly 30-40% treadwear. That is when I decided to buy a dedicated set of winter tires.

Beijing, New and Improved with more Concentrate! Holy s*** that's a lot of people in a small area.

The scary part is...although New York City is smaller (in size and population)...its 9 times denser than Beijing. (Accoridng to Wikipedia)

still having trouble finding snow tires on craigslist. wish i knew i would get new wheels and looked during the summer. hopefully i wont have to buy new ones.
dude...i lucked out...nepoc member just gave me 4 snows (used 1 season) mounted for free! he was offering them on the forum here last month!

many "showings" they do an open house or anything? can you sell it yourself or does the realtor have an exsclusive?

I don't like doing open houses. They typically don't help to sell and theft is an issue.

I don't like all seasons for winter as they are barely good enough for the 1st winter and lousy for the rest as they wear.

I picked up new snows on Tire Rack this week. Clearenced, 65 per tire for performance snows.

I'm also looking for snows for my pickup...probably just 2 rears since it's RWD. I've read I'm going to need at least the rear snows and about 300 lbs of sand bags over the axle to get me through the winter.

bruce, in 8 winters i've only run all seasons...never an issue...this will be my first winter with real snows!

Yeah... the bad part about using that comparison is that the western outskirts of the city is all mountains, and the northern outskirts are all farms... but still factor into the city limits.

Good Morning NEPOCers! Circus train is going through nashua, anyone in that area interested, they will be in Manchester around 10 and will be unloading the Elephants and horses and marching them through town.

Team is doing GREAT! Getting better and better every week. We have already beat what last years team did for rushing yards by 150 yards and touchdowns, well last years team didnt score once in 8 games, we have 16 TD's in 4 games and we still have 4 games left. So we are doing great!
