NEMOC Random BS Thread

did anyone end up going to the rallycross on Saturday? I caught it on ESPN. It looked like it would have been crazy in person. Travis Pastrana did some ridiculous driving to win.

I was also surprised to see a few Saabs and Citroens in the field.

I watched a bit of it at the airport in Houston. Trip from hell.

I didn't make it to the rally cross. I didn't realize it was on TV. I recorded the NASCAR race on Sunday but there wasn't much action.

I was talking to Phen this morning. Operation Lime Rock is underway.

I'm able to bend my knee 90 degrees now, and I successfully drove for the first time since surgery. I drove a proper manual trans too :) I will be fully recovered by lime rock darnit!!!

AutoXed yesterday in the heat, was wiped by the end of the day.

Planning on going to Mosport for Saturday. Surviving the heat till then.

That's pretty cool, especially since the car appears as if it is in good condition as well. Those old school Brits usually don't age spectacularly.

ya, i know...my buddy had a 74 tr6 he bought new, within just a few yrs (no winter driving) it started rusting, plus the electrical gremlins drove him nuts

hey all, been a really long time since ive been on here. been really busy in the past 8 months-ish. had a post in january but it was october before that one.

school hockey and gf have really kept me busy, and without my car on campus, i sort of grew away from the driving side of the car scene aside from having posters on my wall and reading jalopnik, and more into the technical side of it.

since school got out ive been working at an engineering internship and have remembered why i love cars so much by rowing the gears every day.

my car is in great shape and is running strong at 134,xxx miles now. just got the oil changed and tires rotated with a coupon (ftw)
just vaccuumed it all out sunday and the interior looks gorgeous.

im replacing my leaky valve cover gasket on friday, and will be painting the vc while its out of the car (color TBD)

im still thankful of mark and tony and josh and everyone else who was there sorry if i forgot you for helping put the strut bar in, i love the way she handles with it.

while i am unable to say whether or not ill fall out of posting again, i do appreciate that you guys are always here and exrtaordinarily helpful and kind.
but ill definitely be back for the summer and hopefully make some meet-ups.

so yeah, the vc is getting done by my dad and myself on friday. any tips on gasket replacement / vc painting?

oh last thing. dealer tried to charge me $70 to tighten my slightly stretched fan belt that has been squeaking... needless to say i politely declined their offer. how easy is it to tighten / are there and tools i specifically need?
