Need some aftermarket sub/amp help

I followed the how-to to wire an aftermarket sub/amp to the factory head unit here http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123737624 and it came out sounding alright, but not great. I just want to make sure that my sub/amp pairing is ok before I do much tweaking.

I am re-using an old (2002) rockford fosgate Punch 300s amp that is rated at 75w x 2 @ 4ohms, 150w x 2 @ 2ohms and 300w x 1 bridged at 4ohms. I just picked up a 8'' sub without thinking too much about how much power it took because it was the only one in stock at the store. It's a RF Punch P1s48...4 ohms and 150w RMS.

I currently have it hooked up as a bridge-style and I only tapped the rear-driver side speaker cables for the LOC...but now I'm thinking I should also tap the passenger side ones as well (which I avoided since that's where the power cable is).

What would be the best way to wire this sub to the amp? I know the matching is not ideal, but I already had the amp and just wanted to pair it to a small 8'' sub to take up as little room as possible in the hatch.

edit: not sure if it matters, but I have the stock stereo (non-bose)

I would tap the front over the back

it is old data, but someone on the other forum posted clean sweep graphics of the output of the non bose and the rear was very attenuated both high and low
