Need oil cooler help

Where can i buy either a new or used oil cooler and how do i install it.

The dealer wants $1200 !!!!

Which one are you looking for. A quick search of Ebay found this: MAZDA RX8 OEM LEFT OIL COOLER

Another good place to look would be RX8club.com. There are always people parting out wrecked cars.

Great, thanks, i found one on the rx8club.com for $125 used. Having a shop install it for $250.

Far cry from the $1200 that the Mazda dealer wanted !!!!

i was told the bumper had to be removed, is that true?

Yes you will have to remove the front bumper, but its an easy to do. You have to take the wheel liners and the under tray offn the its a few screws by the side markers and it pops off from there. 20 min tops. Reinstall is the same just backwards.

I would imagine the whole job is less than three hours, even for a novice mechanic like myself. You shouldn't need any fancy tools and you should be able to do it without jacking the car up. Just turn the wheels one way and then the other to get to the wheel liners. Go for it youself and save the money for something else.
