Need OBDII scanner recommendation

Hey,

Asking this for a friend. Does anyone have recommendations for handheld OBDII scanners? Any experiences w/ the scanners would be great. If you know any that are a waste of money, mention those too

I have a Snap-on micro scan, it works well and is realativly cheap. $700 bucks and it only does OBDII stuff, so no pre 1996.

Then I have a Superchips Micro Tuner for my truck that has a DTC scanner built in, It reads more codes then the snap-on one and it was quite a bit less money.
