they do have week internals and i dont recommend u touch the boost without a way to tune ur car. unichip and split second are the most popular. and as for the manual boost controler, throw it in the trash those things are junk, save up for an electronic boost controler.

throw away the mbc before you blow up your car... there is a ton of threads about this. in short, with what you have done, leave it stock, 8psi or so max. your weakest link right now is your stock SMIC because it heat soaks like crazy. if you got a fmic, one step colder plugs, you could "safely" run 10psi. Not trying to be a dick i just dont want someone to blow up there car lol.

sounds good...i appreciate the info...im super paranoid about blowin up the motor lol..i will deffinetly get rid of the controller.. thanks

glad you read about the internals before upping the boost. the issue is a MBC spikes too much, which is just the nature of the beast, but 10psi with an EBC might save you an engine compared to a MBC which spiked to 13.

I agree with everyone above, don't touch the boost until you get some sort of EMS to tune your car. and also, where are you located?...and welcome to the forums. There is plenty of info on here

or install the mbc, turn that s#!t up to like 18psi, go race someone for pinks and hope it doesnt blow up...

YEAH, THERE YOU GO!!!(lol2), go race a stock evo with a bad driver for pinks, then start modding the evo. Use the msp as a dd and the evo as a track monster

the guy joins today and asks a fairly well-informed question and you guys are pushing for him to blow up his engine. lets move on.

haha funny guys lol...im located in San Antonio Tx...i go to a couple of meets..i rarely see the speeds out there tho

I would try out the mbc. I ran one for over a year with no problems at all. I would boost about 8psi pretty steady. Just make sure you have a boost gauge to make sure everything is good!
