Skinnyjoint, that thing in your avatar that shakes his head cracks me up.
dsm_rally said:Well, 2 1/2 weeks after I had my car towed to the dealership, I just found out that Mazda is going to replace the engine under warranty. I can't frickin' believe it took so long.
Thanks to everyone for the advice and support!
SkinnyJoint said:So maybe i missed somthing but give us some more action, what did they say about the oil filter and all that s***.
glad to hear the good news
DeadGeneration said:What type of car? Did they give you an Rx-8?
dsm_rally said:Dear God....I just got a call from the dealership. Turns out they had another Protege come in with exactly the same knocking noise I was hearing. Upon investigation, they discovered that it had to do with the screws holding the butterfly in the throttle body. On my car, 3 of them had come loose and 1 was gone entirely. This, I guess, was making the butterfly rattle around. Now the question is, where did the 1 missing screw go? They said they'll tear the motor down until they find it and I'll make them show it to me.
What really kills me (for those of you who have been following this thread) is that it has NOTHING to do with the engine, oil, oil filters or oil changes!!! 2 1/2 weeks of hell trying to produce my receipts and that was totally unnecessary!!! Arghh!!!!
