Need help installing Short Ram Air intake on 2002 2.0 ES

Hello! I have a 2002 Mazda Protege ES 2.0 and I was planning on installing a Short Ram air intake. However, I can not verify a part that plugs into the stock intake hose and where I would put it with the cold air intake installed... Does anybody have any idea what this is?

The new pipping should have a bracket to hold that in place with a bolt, but some don't have the bracket. So you would just had to zip tie it to the side.

Ok thanks, so it does not need to plug into the intake in any way.

Am I required to get a tune for it? Is it required to to reset the ECU at all? Sorry for all the questions, this is my daily and I am trying to learn without any guidance and do not want to ruin the car.

No tune required, but you should reset your ecu. Just disconnect your battery, and press the brake a couple of times.

Your brake fluid looks dark. You might want to consider a flush and refill soon
