ok so the story is i was driving home on the parkway from seeing my uncle who just got out the hospital and all of the sudden my car turns off. the temp guage is stuck on hot and the car is ice cold. the car cranks over but will not turn on i checked every fuse wit my probe and there all good. what could this be HELP. 2003 mazdaspeed protege

well i know that a lot of stuff in the car is original so could be me and my father own our own car shop so ill have to run some tests tomorrow and see cuz right before the car shut off the check engine light came on and i know i have a bad o2 sensor so thats on my list but thanks

well i need some more help i woke up this morning and looked at my fuses again and my engine fuse inside the car blew so the car sat over night i changed it this morning and the car started right up no problem. i drive the car for a half hour and the car shut off again and the fuse is blown wtf could this be im at a loss i have been searching threw all data all day and nothing so far

It could be anything related with engine wiring, google a schematic and just start looking, you are not going to have fun with that problem. I had the main starter power wire cause that once. Best of luck

something is tellin me its my ecu and i dont know why but i have to check it out i have all data on my computer so i can check everything and see whats really going on my rear o2 has been eliminated since about a week after i bought the car my upper o2 is bad that i know for a fact so well see what happens tomorrow i have to make some call to some friends that are wireing experts i know and go from there but thanks for the aDVICE

ok so i found the problem i had the motor rebuilt last summers by my dads buddy he owed me a favor so i figured fine why not. well i guess the upper o2 sensor bracket that it sits in must have broke and the wire laid in the manifold and burned completely together all 4 wires so it was popin the fuse so i just re soldered the wires together and that was that

now i have no idea why but o2 sensors pull oxygen through the jackets on the wires to test against the air in your exhaust. if you cut the wire it can cause the sensor to go bad and not read right. i had no idea about this till i bought the universal o2 sensor. i looked it up online and i did find stuff on this. plus i have a friend who graduated from UTI and the school said the same thing. i have no idea how it works but you may wanna replace the sensor. if its working fine then screw it. im just letting you know.
