Need Help Asap!!!!!

I need HELP!!!!. I bought a titanium 2003.5 MSP today, just after the salesman and I had figured out the stereo, (mind you this is after I signed all the papers!!!) We decided to go for one more ride together ( I think he liked the car more than me) At idle with Stereo on I turned on the headlights and the stereo shut off... then the car completley quit, Hit the hazards - NO JUICE at all. After 15 minutes in the HOT Florida sun, the dealerships porter showed up with some jumper cables. We go back to the dealership and I turned on the high beams, hazards, my Radar etector and stereo ( not up much at all) and it died in 5 minutes. I already bought the car and owned it for almost a mile before this happened, the dealership gave me an 03 Jetta to drive, but what are my options and has anyone else had a problem similar to this????

Any advice would be most appreciated as I have recently quit smoking, and I am considering employment at your local post office after this:mad:

sounds like a simple battery issue...they prolly had it on the lot for awhile and the battery died on several occasions. the reason it shuts off once you turn on all the s*** is it is too ****** up to be charged, and will continue to do so...theyll prolly change it, and then maybe change the alternator depending on how bad the battery ****** up the alternator...and then you should be plenty good.

That kinda happened to me when I bought my P5. The dealer brought it over from another dealer, and when I got there, it didn't wanna start up! He got the booster thingie, and let it charge. I was worried that it would die, but all it needed was a lil charge since it was sitting at the other dealer for months. I'm sure they'll fix yours up fine... don't worry.

Thanks for welcoming me to the board, I had planned on photographing the car today, and creating a new username, but maybe I'll have it back by Tuesday afternoon (Damn Holiday Weekend). I now the dealer is a little scared because I was told in Florida you can return a vehicle in the first 30 days.

i could be wrong but that is horseshit...there are lemon laws if the same thing happens over and over you can take it back for a replacement, but there is no such thing as just taking a vehicle back...we used to get people trying to do that all the time when their son or daughter would buy a car and not be able to afford it...we just told them to call their lawyer and find out, and they would never call back.

I dont know what options you have at this point. But I'll tell you if was me I would have demand another car. I would not have left with anything else.. I'm sorry and I feel your anger...

good luck...

I'm not sure, that was from a friend I called while typing my first post and he said it was Florida Law, I don't want to give it back, I want it to function correctly, but I think I'll try Jonnydoe48's advice and see if I can score some free oil changes and tire rotations.

Problem being is this was the last MSP the dealership had other than a yellow one, and I just can't drive a yellow car, It just asks for more attention than I myself would prefer.

damn thats crazy. when you get your car back, let it run for like a half an hour turning and leaving different things on and off, and make sure to look for any scratches or dings that might have occured while your car was being serviced. Once you leave the lot, that is the same thing as saying you were satisfied with the service, and if you go back with a problem you found afterwards, they will most likely not fix it. So be very meticulous, and picky. Someone must be watching out for you to make the salesguy go out on another test drive with you after already having bought the car. Otherwise, all this crap would most likely be at your own cost! Good Luck and congrats on the Titanium msp. that would have been my choice. And welcome to the site. Sorry your first question had to be soemthing like this.

Dead batteries are a very common thing on car lots. If it has been dead and charged over and over (very common for showroom cars) the battery may be shot and not hold a charge. All tha's needed is a new battery at the worst.

ask for a bunch of free oil changes for the trouble they have caused.

your attitude is ass
you think everything should be free just for some minor and relitively normal situation. should the dealer apologize and rectify this? of course. should he get hundreds of dollars of freebies? would you give it to him if it was your buisiness, I think not. that makes you an ass.

Wow Dynotrick, your attitude is ass. If I spent 20g on a car and it died after an hour. I would want free oil changes, free car washes, a second set of floor mats. The dealer should be gratefull to do it. Its called good customer service. Keep the customer happy.

That happens a lot, they have it in the showroom and have the radio blasting and the dummies never think about the battery. Make sure they put a new battery in because that one is done.

let me ask you something beans. did you pay full MSRP for your MSP? if so then you deserve everything within reason. did you pay between MSRP and invoice? then also you deserve excellent service. did you pay invoice or less? then you deserve nearly nothing because you paid nothing. that is how buisiness works for all you non-buisness people out there. the level of customer service you recieve is directly related to what you paid for the product or service you recieved. go to the super market some time and demand to pay "cost" for that can of peas or whatever and watch how they laugh at you. it's no different at a car dealer or anywhere else. my attitude is not ass, it's simply reality.

rofl, A) it was a joke B) your logic is stupid, because i told him to ask for them, not demand them. C) you probably work for a dealer. kthxbye

You can return the car and get your money back if you have doubts. Most states have laws saying you can return a new car within one week/500 miles.
