Need help...1990 MX5 SCCA certified rollbar w/ glass window

Well the chest strap i used to use sucked. :-) I had it unbuckle a couple times in competition. lol......so we threw it away.

MIA...I only know some about very little. :-) But....I can usualy guess pretty good. I am going to spend the extra $$ to get a hardtop for DE events as well because of the weight thing. :-) I have a friend with a 95 R miata with no A/C weighing in at about 2180. So I need to get as close to that as possible while keeping my A/C. It gets a wee bit hot in TX.

So am I going to see any of you at the SCCA National tour in Arkansas or in Topeka at Nationals? It would be good to see some familiar faces...er....screennames. :-)

One of these years, I hope to attend. Unfortunately, I can't justify driving that length time to run a severly under-prepped car. However, I know I'm missing out on a ton of fun.

I gotta tell you...the top CSP cars at Nationals are unreal how fast they are. :-) I gotta find the $$$ to get back into that class over the next few years. :-)

You've got that right. I borrowed a friend's 13x8.5 Panasport "something or the others" with Kumho 710's (IIRC) for the last event (last year) and the time I picked up with those alone was impressive. I can't wait to replace my hollow spoke 14's with something along that line. I currently have my eye on a set of Rota RB's.

With having a '90, I've got a good platform to start with. Plans for this year (hopefully) include a '99 1.8L swap, Koni Yellows, and higher spring rates. I also want to give a poke at the MSEFI. I'm hoping that'll lead me on the right path.

Moving into a new house, however, isn't very conducive to the race budget unfortunately. That, and I'm splitting the budget between 2 Miatas. It's great fun, really :D .

In what class are you currently running, David?

Probably not me. I'm concentrating on road racing this year, with a lean towards open road racing. Just need to find a bank to rob, and I'll be set :)

Planning to compete in NASAs SU class next year.

Kevin, are you going to use the stock CAS with the MS? I'm lacking in the skill to make that part work. the rest i can handle. there was a guy who has it running on his NA6, but is unresponsive to e-mails..

I run E Stock. The car is totally prepped so to speak. Though it could use a bushing replacement and better shocks (I have custom valved Koni Single adjustables). Quick car still though.

I threw on my friend's 13x9 Keisers and was able to pick up about 2 seconds over my ES 14s (both sets of wheels had the Ecsta V700s though). So with 710s it may have been closer? Long of the short, the 13s make a big difference. :-)

Come to think of it, his 13s are for sale with a set of V710s mounted with about 25-30 runs on them. I believe he wants around $800 with tires. The wheels alone were close to $400 each I believe. They hardly weigh anything (maybe 7lbs?).

I plan to use the tach signal from the ignitor module. If that doesn't work, I'll investigate further options. If worst comes to worst, I'll modify the code in the MS uP to make either the ignitor singal or CAS signal work.

Where's he located? That's very tempting.

Here in Houston, TX. We're actually going to be taking the Ecsta 700s off them this next week, freshening up the silicone on the inner bead and mounting up the 710s.

Email him (Richard) at rt325e@houston.rr.com He also does great vinly work (for me its numbers, class letters, etc.) at the cheepest price I've ever paid.
