Anyone know who is the manufacture of the head phones and remote for the
cx9 dvd player? Is a mazda dealer the only place to get replacements?

You can get headphone anywhere at car part local stores or electronics stores. Look for in car DVD infrared headphone. But I am not sure if you can find remote somewhere except dealers or factory.

Thanks. I purchased the head phones and remote but the remote didnt work.
I dont think its the right brand

You can check the part number for the remote, but I think it should work fine with RSES. You may check battery. Do you see any difference between the original one and the one you bought off ebay?
