This coming weeking is my first autoX of the year and I have only run once with my Kumho victoracer v700 on 16'' Fd's and it was raining. So I would like some advice on what you guys would suggest I set my tires at for a hot sunny dry day.
your car is going to understeer like mad, you want rotation

chalk the sidewalls, you dont want the front rolling over. if your oversteering, lower the back, if your understeering, slow down and lower the front, but not to the point your running on the sidewall
Check out Tire Rack: Tire Pressure For Competition Tires This was backed up in other AutoX books. If you want to reduce understeer you run higher pressure in the front that back. If you had a RWD you would want to reduce oversteer in which you would want to run higher pressure in the back than front. The only want running higher pressure in the back will help it slide better is if your "over inflating " the tire so that there's less of a contact patch on the ground. which isn't good for overall handling.
I ran my fully built suspension civic like this and it felt like a RWD going around corners.
Ive been thinking of getting a compressor. I am part of a new car club here because I moved so I wont know anyone there but with my old club there was always someone to borrow from that I knew. I will probably go buy one before the autoX just to be safe.
I cant wait, next mods to buy are springs and sway bars after that I should be pretty competetive in my class. Unfortunately by buying the new tires it bumps me out of my old class which was way easier considering I got 2nd place by 1/100th on my 2nd autoX I ever had.
