NASA Great Lakes Region-Mid-Ohio August 13-15, 2010

To cut down on gas Phen you can drive out to my house, then me and my dad and girlfriend are going so you can come along...we are probably looking to leave around 9ish so we are there by ten...it 'might' save you some cash/gas, plus you don't have to get up so early... we are staying through the final race of the day at least, I dunno about staying for the cookout....

Thanks for the offer James. I really appreciate it. If I get paid on Friday like I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to (Pays are 15th and last day of the month, but when they fall on weekends, it's almost a crap shoot as to when we get our money) then I'll have the gas money and will glady enjoy one last drive to Mid-Ohio for the year. I'm trying to drive the MSM as much as I can before I prematurely put her away for the winter.

But I was kidding about the heels, Marlon... (spin)

If you can get me a discount on a pair of Pilotis I'll add even more to the "free labour coupon" I owe you. Haha

Can't wait till tomorrow! It's like trying to get to sleep on Christmas Eve... See you all in the morning. :)

What a day! I had a blast, even though the weather and other circumstances led to a series of unfortunate events... It was crazy though, that storm! Came home and my grandparents' house (right next door to mine) was struck by lightning--fried the TVs and some other lights and stuff. And it felt like we were struck by lighting there at the track--that one strike was insanely close!

Overall, I had fun. It was neat to see Evan and Kevin on track, and I also liked seeing the overall progression of the other cars since the first track day in April. Judging by a quick glance at the pics, I am proud of at least one of every car I got who was running. Unfortunately, no Spicy or Coppertone are present--I'm really sorry about that! It was nice meeting some new people who I've never met in person and getting to talk all things cars for 12 hours in one day! Thanks again--expect a link to a Flickr photoset by Tuesday evening. Teaser pics may be posted sooner! Thanks everyone!

james - a HUGE thanks to you, your gf and your dad (i believe) helping me change out my tires and packing all my soaked belongings into the car. it was a GREAT help at the end of a long (and semi-stressful) day. that really went above and beyond and i truly appreciate it! more good mazda friends!! yay!!

after you left tom decided to run his last session since we were still there - after bs'ing with phen for a bit - it was still raining ever so slightly but stopped before he was done. then NASA central had decided to cancel their usual sat night cook out, but they still had the free beer! i NEEDED one after yesterday's events, so we ended up hanging until 8 or so, had a few brewskies and bs'd with other drivers - it was fun getting to know other NASA members a bit better. then marlon, tom and i hit up the brunswick lizard - no beer for me there! - we ate, got home about 10p, unloaded most of the soaking wet sh*t from the car and i pretty much passed out.

and now i'm up to do it all over again. this time if rain clouds are looming, tent down and staying inside somewhere dry! i'm leaving all my worldly belongings at home, so no worries of stuff getting soaked again. ugh.

thanks to all for coming down. glad you had a good time evan and kevin ... and we'll see you all again soon!

oh, my bad, and the BIGGEST thanks goes to Bill for towing spicy to the dealership!!! our saviour of the day!! truly, truly appreciated!! we owe you!

(and nicely timed to stay out of the torrential downpour w/ hurricane like winds!!) LOL

I had a freakin blast! I'll most certainly be doing more Hyperdrives and possibly HPDE1 next year so I'll be even more broke than I am now. Muhaha!

Thanks again Lauri, for letting me use your helmet. I feel kinda like a d-bag since Kevin and I left right before the storm. I had no idea, I swear! Or else I would've stuck around and helped pack up and what not. Thanks to Doc for letting us use his shade and pit area. And to Kevin for the pics that I'm very much looking forward too. And Marlon for all the tips, advice and support.

I was so irritated with "normal" drivers on the way home. I was waiting for people in the passing lane to point over their roof to let me pass on the right. Haha! I made it home in record time. I just don't do well with the heat, I get migraines and had to pass out for the rest of the afternoon. But still very fun day at the track! This nOOb had a blast!

If you're gonna keep doing it, you better learn how to deal with the heat brutha. Hahaha.

Yeah, I don't know what I'm gonna do about that... I hate heat. Maybe I should buy a snow rally car instead...
