The original 2.3 engine went out in my car. I swapped a 2.3 out of a Fusion. I kept my engine harness and PCM, intake camshaft, intake manifold, TB, fuel rail & injectors.. Used this guide:

Anyway, I don't know what this sensor and bracket is/where it goes. It looks like it a ground of some sort.

It is the only connector between the grey (at least on my car) O2 sensor and the crankshaft position sensor. It is a little black sensor with a crazy U-shaped bracket that has a notch in it. I mounted it here (timing cover):

The car does run and drive ok at best. I'm getting a P2507-low PCM voltage. I also had P0012-camshaft position timing overretarded, but that is now gone.. I tested battery with multimeter and it reads 12.5 when the car is off. I'm getting 13-14 while it is running and with AC on full blast and/or reving up to 2500rpm.

Also, my transmission seems to shift funny (it is a 5 speed manual), but not consistently. It feels like it won't go into gear at times.. I never had this problem before. I used new transmission fluid (3 quarts).

Can anyone help me out please?

Thank you!

facing forward, what side of the engine is this? i recall a bracket like this being mounted near the transmission, left hand side below the battery. the remainder of the sensor cable wraps on the underside of the transmission. it would explain why your car is shifting funny as well if it has a transmission cable disconnected....
