NA project blew the hell up!!!

its is still a little unknown about the intake mani...it didn't seem to hinder too much power, but who knows what could be unleashed with more drastic changes to it...its definately long, which isn't great for high rpm breathing...

I didn't even touch the TB...the Motec is running the stock MAF, and that is barely bigger than the stock TB...so unless you change the MAF housing, it is more or less pointless...What i did was mounted the MAF about 4 inches from the TB, and made my intake piping out of fiberglass in a progressive diameter...its pretty big at the filter, and then decreases in diameter to the MAF...then just barely steps down from the MAF to the TB...seemed to work pretty well for both torque and high hp...

Installshield, if u dont mind, when you're done with this project, may I come up to PA to check it out? This is an awesome job man.

I wouldn't mind at all dude...although that seems like a bit of a drive for you, or flight depending...

It isn't much to look at as of now...in fact the engine in my P5 right now looks better (I painted the head cover...the built engine has an MP3 cover without that plastic thing...so a couple of funny stubs stick off of it)...but it is definately something to hear...damn it I want that thing in my car immediately...

is2 what have you done in terms of being able to get to the adjustable cam gears easily? i was working on my idea last night since the head cover is off the car.

well since it wasn't in a car, there was no need to put the timing belt cover back on...and we simply cut away the pulley side of the head cover all the way around...but leaving the area for the gasket to make a good seal...then just sand it down to get rid of the sharp edges...probably not the best idea for areas with gravel and tons of dust and s***, so my painted cover will go on once in the car...looks better and I don't want a plastic cover on the engine...

i'll take some pictures when i get home from work this arvo and show you what i've done so far. fingers crossed it would work

Cool, Cool. It's a b**** to drive but I'll do it. Go by Orlando and spend a couple days and roadtrip up to PA, lol.

pictures of what i've done so far to the head cover

as you can see i have cut the plastic that covers the cam gears basically ni half. the bottom half stays in place with the two bolts down there.

next is to cut the head cover (havent decided which way i'll do this) and glue the top half of the plastic cover to the head cover part that gets cut off. hopefully when it's put back in the car, the two bolts on the top sides of the plastic cover will keep that entire part in place and allow easy and quick access to the cam gears.

what do you think?

lol
DX or not you will always be Kyle...

I made another thread about it...a few days after this one or something...I will look for it...its NA test #2 complete or something...

Seriously come on installshield, that beauty will not rust in that classroom of yours. Put it in the car man

Its in the car now...I wasn't going to say anything until I have the computer installed...but its in the car ready to go...

that is the main reason I haven't been around in a while...Instead of sitting in front of this screen, I have been constantly trying to fix little things with the built engine....which was way more than what I planned on...

For one thing I decided to clamp some of the mounting brackets for different stuff on the engine (i.e. A/C,-PS pump, etc..) and the rpm kept causing it to vibrate off...and by off I mean completely, despite red-loc tight fully curing...it ended up being that the throughbolts were cross-threaded on ALL of my brackets...not sure how it happened, but it took me forever to figure out...its just been a bunch of stuff like that...

but its in the car, waiting on an ecu still...just need that and to wire it up...and I will be perfectly fine...until then I get to rock an 86 Dodge 600 K car...its the greatest ever...

he def does want it : ) i want to hear that beast and see some dino results
