My turn...LSD took a big crap.

If you can post the synchro and bearing clearances so that they are searchable that'd be great for everyone! Glad to hear you made progress and are nearly good to go!

I'll see what I can do about the clearances. I'm thinking of just welding the side of the bracket that missing the bolt to the tranny with a few spot welds. Not sure what kind of alloy the tranny is made out of though.

Thanks.

A few pics of the broken bearing:

Notice how burnt the mating surface of the bearing is in the second pic.

Another update:

The shifting seems to be a little better from a stop. It slides into first gear better now. If it doesn't want to go in I just need to slide it into neutral and try again and it almost always goes in. I'm probably going to go back to the Redline Shockproof, because I've been noticing a slick grind here and there when shifting. The two rear MM bracket bolts seem to be doing a good job of holding the bracket in place. The thread locker seems to be doing a good job.

I've been noticing a high pitched whine in almost all the gears lately...specially in fourth and fifth. It was evident even before I replaced the bearings. The loudness is depended on SPEED and THROTTLE Input. I know that it's not the shaft bearings, because I've just replaced them. Could it be the LSD/LSD bearings? I didn't replace those as I had the LSD replaced already. One thing after another huh? But I'm not about to give up after everything that I've been through with my car :)

Hopefully somebody does find or will find this "journal" usefull.

My lsd broke i so i took it to the shop they thought it was a clutch so i bought a ACT clutch for $500 . But that didnt work it was the Lsd So I went to mazda and order a lsd for $800 plus labor $400 totaL $1600 SUCKS

Sorry to hear that bro. I'm assuming you're out of warranty by now? If you can get the new LSD welded so you won't run into the same problem again.

800 for the LSD is a shaft!!! The ACT for 500 is also SUPER expensive... I could have done BOTH for 800 roughly.

Well...I'm at it again !!! Looks like something happend to either the pressure plate or the hydrolic system. The clutch doesn't want to disengage completely, therefore making shifting almost impossible. I've blead the hydrolic system, and that didn't help any. So right now I'm in the garage taking the tranny out again lol

A big problem!! The damn tranny is somehow stuck by the input shaft and the clutch (pissed) I also busted the seal of the clutch pusher thing trying to get some movement to the pressure plate in hopes of releasing the tranny from the clutch. What a nightmare.

Try wiggling the transmission, but get a transmission jack on it I didn't and that's how I broke my toe the first time.

that's not that big of a deal... the boot around the throwout fork and the throwout fork itself are not too expensive overal..

Very weird though that you can't get it to disengage... did the axles all come off/out okay?

Believe me man...I tried wiggling, I tried pulling on it, I tried various things in between the tranny and the engine. It just doesn't want to come out for some reason. Time to go at it again.

Sorry to hear about your toe man.

Thanks man. I had a car on the lift and was wiggling the s*** out of the trans and it still wouldn't let go, so I removed the tranny jack to get more movement and space and it wouldn't budge an inch so I shock it harder and it fell. I caught it but as I tried to slow it down I brought it into myself and it landed on my foot. I'm just telling you so you'll learn from others mystakes, I was hobbling around the shop for a week util they sent me home. I was still able to work but **** did it hurt.

Well actually I broke the seal of the clutch slave cylinder. The axles are all out. The tranny is basically hanging by the input shaft.

I know you have done this a bunch... but are you SURE that you got all the bolts out? The start ones, the little stupid one down at the bottom by the oil pan etc?

Yeah, the thing is it comes out about half an inch and no more. But to get it out that half inch I have to pry it out.
Here are the pics of the busted seal...I'm surprised I found the other rubber piece on the floor lol

At this time I'm putting it all back together. Hopefully I can start it and let it run through the gears. It really feels like the input shaft has jumped like half a tooth and is now against another tooth of the clutch disk.

Looks like I'm about to salvage the clutch cylinder for now. I superglued the seal together and it's working fine. I'll order a new one anyway.

Put everything back together. The car is driveable, but shifting still sucks at a stand still when the car is on. Something is making a sqeaking noise inside the tranny as soon as I depress the clutch. When I go to put the tranny in gear I can hear a "thump" like I do if I was to not depress the clutch and try to put the shifter into a gear. So it seems that the clutch pressure plate is not disengaging completely. I'm going to replace the clutch cylinder first and see if that helps. However, the car was doing the same thing before the busted slave cyl. Unless it broke at that point and I've descovered it broken later when the seal flew out. I doubt it though.

I don't know if I'd trust super glue to get me home everyday.
Me neither, but it's working so far although leaking a bit. I just need to use the broken one for a few days until I get the new one.
