I replaced the piston inside the slave cyl with a new one and bled the system. The pedal feels very very good, but the same problem is still there :( As soon as I try to put it into first gear something inside the tranny starts squeaking and the tranny will not go into gear unless I first put it in a few other gears like 3rd and 4th. As soon as I either let the clutch out or put the tranny in gear the squeak goes away. Sounds like a messed up pressure plate? By the way, the current clutch setup is a stock MSP pressure plate and a Spec stage 3 hybrid disk. The stock pressure plate probably has around 77k miles on it. I very easy on the clutch. However, the car has been in a lot of stop and go situations throughout it's life.

Sounds like a messed up throw-out bearing. It's what pushes against the pressure plate to dis-engage the clutch.

I don't know man...I replaced it not too long ago with a brand new OEM one. It doesn't sound like a TB. Would you know how a tranny could be stuck inside the clutch? Have you ever seen anything like that?

Thanks!

Did you install the T.b. correctly? Does your clutch pedal feel normal or is it lower than it used to be?

Well the tranny finally blew up tonight! It was time for it to go. I'm pretty sure the nasty wheelhop I created when launching the car at the track tonight did it. Sounds like a few gears shattered. The wheels lock up when I roll the car in neutral from the debris. Getting ready to pull it out and throw that s*** out once and for all!!

Took it apart while it's still attached to the engine, because it wouldn't come apart again. Based on what I can see thus far the LSD gear has a few teeth missing, but there's a lot more debris all around. Be back in a few to report the rest. Thankfully I have the original LSD laying around that I'm going to have to remove the gear from.

just letting everyone know mine went about 3 months back too. COming out of a light in second gear got on it a bit and poopoo city.

Dealership wanted over 3 K just to REPLACE the LSD. I said **** it and had them put a brand new tranny in. 5 thousand dollars down the drain. Yeah it sucked.

And before anyone is like wtf mang why no quaife, I was very busy graduating and getting into law school. Plus I really could care less about the car now...

Anyways, feel free to add me up to the list.

I understand the feeling man. Good luck with school.

Installed the new tranny yesterday finally! The problem with the old one not coming out was the pilot bearing lol. It was ceised on the output shaft behind the clutch. I ended up unbolting the whole clutch assembly through the clutch fork hole in the tranny one by one. Came up with that idea after wasting a lot of energy pulling on the input shaft in every way possible. Good thing I didn't mess anything up by pulling that hard. Then I had to cut the input shaft off behind the bearing and hammer the rest of it out from the bearing. I reused the bearing...it seemed fine and wasn't getting stuck on the new tranny. My stock pressure plate was worn out pretty good from the Spec disk's hard metal surfaces. It looked like an old worn out rotor. So I ended up using the basically new Spec pressure plate that I had from before paired with the stock clutch disk. The stock clutch disk has a lot of meat left on it. The Spec disk was almost down to the rivets. I forget how much material was on it new. The new combo works pretty well so far. Not as much initial grab as the old setup, but the pedal is much lighter.

Forgot to mention that the new tranny is an open diff tranny. I didn't transfer the LSD into this one. Too much work for the time being. So far I really can't tell a difference, but I'm sure once I hit the corners I'll know for sure. It's not a big deal for me right now. I just wanted to get this thing done. More than likely sometime in the future I'll purchase the quaife.

Another thing I noticed is that the Synchromesh fluid was like water inside the tranny. I think that was a major contribution to its failure.

i'm worried about my LSD giving out on me i'm going to be pushing over 200whp within the next month, how much do you think it would be to have the sucker welded? How hard is it to remove the lsd on your own? What would be the labor charge if I had someone else do it for me.

we weld them for people for 75 plus shipping it back to you.

If you use my writeup it's quite easy to do yourself.

If you have someone else remove it'd you'd be looking at 400+ most likely.

whats the turn around time? Like how long would my car be in peices for? Could I get a link to your how to? Thanks a bunch.

It only takes a few days to get it welded when we receive it.. so say 3-4 days for that side and then shipped back.

the writeup is on here in the how to section. just do a search for "disassemble gears LSD" and it'll come up.

thanks man, i'll let you know what I decide to do...

Mine blew up last week, didnt damage any other parts, getting it rewelded this week :)

Going to cost me $500 labor + $273 for clutch (competition clutches Stage 1) + stock flywheel ($20?)

The guy who had the car before me apparently got the flywheel hot 1st thing. it had "blue" spots, then other spots that had never been touched by the clutch! (warped that bad?) - so.. going back to a stock flywheel.

Well i never thought i would join the club but my lsd crapped out this morning on the way to work. I took off normally in first and then bang!!!!!zzzzzzzzzz! And thats how it ends. Car is at the trans shop now i feel lost with out it. O well time for a clutch upgrade while they are in there.
