My turn...LSD took a big crap.

well then you'd want the wastegate to stay shut more... the wastegate is purely there to STOP the turbo from making more boost. As long as you aren't getting crazy creep it doesn't matter how much the wastegate does or doesn't open.

When it is open it doesn't flow enough...or maybe it's because of all the turbulance going on in there. I got an external gate sitting around, but I'm still figuring out if I want to use it or not. Will have to make changes to the FMIC setup then.

I guess I don't understand your problem because it still doesn't make sense to me.

The only way to confirm it is when you first put it on... you'll see concentric rings (like the rings of a tree's age) across the whole surface of the flywheel... that is what it looks like when it is re-ground, otherwise it'll look smooth or shiny when it has been worn (similar to how your brake discs look after a few thousand miles).

Just spoke with Spec and the flywheel is perfect. They're not really sure about what happend with the clutch but are taking care of me. I opted for the hybrid clutch disk this time around. Can't wait!

Well,

Everything is in but one freakin bolt!! I ended up stripping the thread of the welded nut for the control arm circular bushing bolt in the suspension frame/support bar  As always the last bolt...now I hope I can rethread it.

Haha...

So how did you end up getting that damn control arm back on? Do I just go to sears and buy a helicoil in that size?

Thanks!

I recut the threads... there were three good ones left.. so I recut that bad ones and that was enough to get it to hold for now.. I'm going to take it over to a buddy's and have him fill the hole in with a welder.. then I'll drill it and retap it all the way through.... that is the best way to fix it overall.

Kewl.

I got the bolt in there. Bought the 12x1.25 tap and rethreaded it. Everything is in and the car is washed and waxed!

However,

The tranny is making a noise...same one it made before I took it off. It's coming right from somewhere behind the black cap on the end of the tranny. Sounds like a rubbery chewee sound. I thought it was the TO bearing, but it's not because I got a new one. It goes away when I depress the clutch.

Otherwise it drives fine, except for a few strange noises aside from the tranny. Sounds like an exhaust leak, atleast I hope that what it is. I can tell already the clutch grabs much better.

One question...I think I'm a little low on the tranny fluild. I can't feel it if I stick my finger in the fill hole. I did waste a little bit of fuild trying to get it in there. It is alright to drive the car if tranny fluid didn't drip out of the fill hole?

Thanks!

It's possible the plastic piece isn't in line with the cap the way it should be or the shaft feed tube on the black cap is rubbing... those are som possibilities at least...

It's "sort of" ok to drive a tiny bit low on fluid... but with the car on the ground I would take the time to add more until it starts to drip out of that hole... better safe than sorry.

I put about 60 miles on the car today, and now the damn tranny is squicking(sp) along with the rubbery chewee noise. Maybe it's because of the low'ish fluid? It shifts very nice though.

s*** another problem. I'm going to have to take that black case off and take a look.

I ordered another bottle of redline...I wasted about 1/4 of a bottle of the three I had...that's why I'm a little low in the tranny.

Thanks!

Found the source of the sqeek just now...it's the black end cap. If I press on it in about the center the sqeek stops. What could it be? I drained the tranny and took the cap off yesterday to take a look around so I know that's on tight. I noticed there's a "nipple" on the back side of the cap. Is that "nipple" suppose to move in any way?

On a side note, shifting is very notchy now...compared to when the tranny was a little low on fluid on sunday. This time I filled her up until she was oozing fluid out of the fill hole hehe. Could I have put too much fluid in her?

Later.
