My Turbo Project

As far as the Miata goes, I'm not 100% what it's gonna do. I saw a 1.8 NA with ITBs in FL that looked awesome. There was one with a 13B turbo, too. But my favorite so far is one with a KL V6 swapped in with ITBs... mmmm. In other words, i'll be going from one money pit to another. :)

mmmmmmmm....ITBs......

haha kid in a candy store I tell ya....

you can bring the lil miata down to my neck of the woods www.mazsport.net specializes in 13b miata conversions and they're 5 mins away from me hehe

so, here are some thoughts I've been having about the car:
  • I'd like to make it a dedicated daily driver and use something else for autocross. I'm really leaning towards a NB Miata (99-00).
  • So, I'll be "downgrading" some things on the P5. I want to sell the TEINs and put on something like the adjustable Tokigos with Ground Control to set my ride height and spring rates, but I'd keep the camber plates (maybe).
  • I also want to sell the 17x7s that I have now, and use the 16x8 Rotas with 225/45/16 tires.
  • I need to repair and selll the 17x7.5 Rotas, and refinish and sell the 17x7 Mille Miglias, too.
  • The seats/brackets are gonna go, too, but I'm gonna keep the harnesses. I really want to get a harness bar in there so the back seat can be usable.
  • Oh yeah, the Racing Beat front sway bar is gonna come out. I should have done more research before buying that. It ended up causing more understeer.

let me know when you do that front sway...so i can be way far outa town.

hmmm all this miata swap talk got me thinking about a miata with a F20C swap that would be fun

All this miata talk makes me want another one. If you are not driving it for a daily driver you won't have to worry about this as much but get ready for the "isn't that a girls car" and "does that thing come with a skirt" and "did your wife let you borrow her car today" and well you get the picture. I use to get that s*** all the time and it really never bothered me because I would tell them that I did not have to drive a 'insert car here' to make up for my pecker size!!! :D

lol so true. I drove it to work today so I could make a run by Shadow102's work / shop this afternoon. Now that I got it raised off the bumpstops in the rear, it feels freakin great! lol They're so damn fun! I don't give a crap what anyone says.

it was a Dynojet. Honestly, I was kinda of disappointed. But it just goes to show that 7psi is 7psi, doesn't matter what turbo it's coming from.

Do they make JonnyRacer intercoolers for the Protege? I know my friend got one for his Civic for pretty cheap. Oh and is that dynochart tuned?

I have the Turbohoses SMIC. Don't want to go with FMIC. What do you mean "tuned?" I'm using the MSP ECU.

Well there's always the variances in spool time and boost efficiency range, but as far as power output is concerned, you are correct my friend!

Well I meant tuned as in by the dyno. My friend has a shop and he tunes the computer to get the most HP out of the turbo.
