My Sub + Amp Install

Finally got this done after having the car for 10 months.

I'm running an eD 9kv.2 d4 with a Kenwood KAC7201.* Bridged and wired in series, it's pushing around 260x1.

Here's the box I made to eD's specs for this sub, along with the finished product and amp install:

I followed eD's video tutorial on how to carpet the box, and it was fantastic.* For my first time, I was thrilled on how it came out.

I made it a down-firing box so I wouldn't have to put a grill on it.* I can tell you it sounds better than it did with the speaker firing up.* It puts out just enough bass, but now I can hear every little rattle in the car.* Next is some eDead for the doors & hatch area.*

I also put my Alpine 2-way 6.5" in the doors.* Not sure of the model number, but they are about 120w RMS.* Not too thrilled with how they sound running off of the stock head unit, but they are only temporary.* Stage 2 will consist of eDi 6000s up front, eD NINe.4 to push the comps and sub, and maybe move the Alpines to the rear doors.

Thoughts/comments/etc.?

Looks nice and clean. Excellent job on the box! Not a fan of the kenwood amp though.. and why did you mount it so far rearwards? Now that vent is blowing right onto it... I have the JL Audio clean sweep, PDX 150.2 and my distribution block all up in front of the floor vent.

Forget about the rear doors. Leave em stock, or unplug them. I am running alpine type-R components up front and my passenger couldn't even tell that the rears were disabled.

Thank you! The amp is left over from my old Civic, so I'm just using it until I move on to Stage 2 of the project.

As for the mount, I slid two 1x3s under the carpet, on either side of the vent, and mounted the amp to them. The vent still blows air to the back, although it is going under the floormat. I could move the amp up a bit, but I liked how the floormat protects the amp from the passenger's feet. It's fan cooled, and the fan is not covered, so there's no real heat issue.

It's a pretty big amp, so I couldn't fit the whole thing infront of the vent, but I may still move it up.
