So im driving down the freeway in my girlfriends Mercury,My speed3 sleeping in the garage @home..and I got my cruise control set at 65..speed limit is 60...this peice of s*** red car with fart can hauls pass me going 75 ish..and im like ok..then the minivan behind me speeds up and goes around me..going 66-67..so I see the 2 state troopers parked at the "usual" spot off the side of the freeway and 1 pulls out..Im like aww gonna go after that red car I bet...Nope..it get behind me..never mind the minivan that was slightly ahead of me going faster..behind me..so Im like ok..yeah i was going 65..but never been pulled over for 5 over, and besides im the slowest car out right now..in the slow lane!...so "she" pulls me over..and says I was going 74!!!...Im like hey ill be honest..ive gotten a few tickets before but never talked my way out of them, but maam I had my cruise set @65..no reason to lie..I was going 5 over..but not 14!!...so she says radar doesnt lie..and I was super nice and respectful,so was she..and Im like you sure you didnt pick up that red car that was hauling ass in front of me? haha..anyways long story short..looks at my license for 10 seconds and says drive safe have a good night..so didnt get ticket..bottom line..do you think they read the fast red car infront of me..I would say the car was about 300-400 yards in front..so that doesnt make sence..I just dont know how that radar got 74..and my cruise control is accurate..wierd...

Yeah they must have read one of the cars that passed you.

Happened to me once, cop pulled me over because a Jetta III passed me on the right...of a one lane road on the shoulder, going 10-15mph faster than me. But of course I am the one that got pulled over. They gave me a ticket for a lane violation and going "60+" because he estimated. Luckily the cop never showed when I fought it.

yep....

but you were in the 'slow' lane. so i'm surprised she pulled you over... it happens.

at least she kinda owned up that she might not have been paying attention to see what/who was going faster, and let you off (you showing some respect and being cool about everything helped out, i'm sure)...

she might have had her gun on, while she was reading something on the screen, talking to a buddy, etc., and it went off to signify a target speed and she just looked up, and you were the first one she saw....

so... now we all know how cool you are... 5.3 fonzi points for you :)

LOL...Yeah Im all abolut being professional and respectful..Army for 6 years Correctional officer for 2 and Im now in the Firefighter Program..I make sure I pull over to the safest part of the road, turn my cabin lights and have all my information..Making sure that I put that officer in a situation where Iam not a threat and the enviorment is friendly. That the conversation is respectful and logical, and then its ultimatly up to them on what the decision will be. No reason to be a asshole lol.

Yeah.... I think I know how this really went down.

You blew past her at 110mph windows down music blasting. She clocked you at such, chased you down and pulled your ass over. You "accidentally" handed her your military/corrections/firefighter/ id or badge and she let you off.

My buddy (A Marine) pulls that move all the time. "Oh sorry I meant to hand you my license"

Well played, sir. Glad that worked out for you. Not every traffic cop out there can gracefully back down from issuing a ticket when they think they nailed you. Kudos to the LEO for "admitting" she might have been incorrect.

Sometimes they pull you over just to check to see if your info is good or that you're not drunk. Anything they can to get you pulled over.

I always keep my mil ID in a pul out folding thingy (tech term) with my DL on the other side. That way I always give the cop both. Has worked pretty well so far, unless you get pulled over near a base, in which case the cop will most likely be looking for the DOD sticker before he pulls a car over to be sure he is ticketing a mil member rather than a local. That drives me nuts, cuz I'm still not going ot get the ticket, but I have to put my Dress Unifor on for court so the Judge will dismiss it.(nana)
