My P5

ok i was wondering how fast (quarter mile) is my 2003 protege 5......i owned a 1998 chevy s10 2.2l 5spd and that thing was one of the slowest vehicles on the road...i clocked it at a 19.9 quarter with a flowmaster exhaust......surely the p5 has got to be faster than that.....right???? Another question......what kind of cars have you guys beaten with your p5...i have yet to "floor" the gas on the car becuase i only have 100 miles on it...

hey Dj, yes its faster than that.....however....its not a road burner....it is pretty peppy though...our protege's REAL forte is in its handling...it will out handle MANY MANY other cars....even some that you would not believe it could.....many of the cars that the Protege will out handle cost as much as 4 or 5 times as much...hard to believe...but true...hope you live where there are some twisty roads to drive on....that will truely make you love your car that much more.

i would have to agree with nuke...thats definitely the most fun aspect of our car...if you can keep the rpms up above 4000, its pretty quick, but straight line speed gets old after a while, turning is always fun, esp. when you find a nice road where you can safely test the limit

BlackP5Lethr, what kind of BS is that little cartoon you have below your last post. Why don't you like Canadians? What have we ever done to you? Is it because someone in our government called Bush a moron a couple of weeks ago? Did you ever stop to think that her views don't necessarily reflect the views of all Canadians. Don't forget that we are one of your allies, and I think America needs allies right now. Most Canadians would agree that America and Canada are friends, but it is not surprising that so much of the world dislikes Americans when people like yourself post offensive things against OTHER PEACE LOVING NATIONS! Next time, think before you do something like that, and quite frankly, I think you should be kicked off this board forever for posting that cartoon. I also think, or should I say hope, that the majority of your American friends would agree with me, and consider themselves friends of ours with similar global interests. Don't make enemies for no reason...and cool that American ego if only just for a little while...Please!

well most magazines i have seen say the 16.6 area. and that is the fastest i have made it in the quarter. i need to learn to drive and it might be a bit quicker.anyways.......

thats what i thought.....thats alot better than my consistant 19s and high 18s with my 2.2l s10.....that thing was slow..still loved it though
