My oil is disappearing!

PVC is polyvinyl chloride. It is a material that piping is made of (used in plumbing ect). I have no idea what it has to do with your oil leak. Get a compression test done first, and check your car after running to see if you can pinpoint a leak. You shouldn't be losing that much oil.

Ok ... i will get a comp. test next week. Im gonna keep checkin the oil to make sure it wasnt my mistake on the levels. I will get a good idea when i drive home this weekend. Just out of curiousity.. if my compression is off, how does that make me lose oil? I know that if i have a cracked head gasket that there should be oil in the radiator. But thats about all i know.

pCv = positive crankcase ventilation
its a pain in the ass it what it is, if the valve was bad you would know, your car would idle like s*** or not idle at all

if its not on the ground it has to be burning it up

my car with its new engine eats a quart every two months, mostly because it has a different valve cover that pukes oil on hard turns, I dont really think its all that big of a deal.

If your not loosing more than that, I'de just say **** it and get used to adding alittle bit of oil every once in a while

PCV not PVC - positive cranckcase ventilation. draws vapors from the crancase into the intake manifold to burn them off during combustion.

*edit* dang Aric, beat me to it. I hate it when the phone rings at work!

I doubt it is the PCV valve but you can check it easily. Remove the cover like mentioned above and look for the valve. Remove the valve from the engine cover (just pulls out) and you can leave it connected to the hose.

Just shake it around. If you hear the valve moving around in it when you shake it, there is nothing wrong. If you don't hear it moving or it takes alot of force to hear something then the valve is sticky or stuck and should be replaced. You should hear it moving around with little force.

Well i checked my overflow tank and its just a puke green as always. I will check the PCV or whatever tonight. Aric Im losing oil a little quicker than that. Its getting to be a quart every 2 weeks now. Im thinking its the seal on the turbo. Which wont cost a whole lot to fix. Time is the factor. Plus im worried about the turbo and my cats now... because ive lost a good 3-4 quarts over time.

so if it was the trubo seal, it would just be blowing by or would there be obvious signs of a leak/bad seal?
