I don't get it...u are trying to get ur car to use the coldest air possible...so u send the hot air that ur engine is producing and reflect it back into the engine?

I like to keep the heat in my engine bay!!!
I would think that it would reflect ALL the heat from the engine very well and keep it in the engine bay (wrap yourself in an emergency blanket to see how well this material works), like you say (in jest), but I don't think that I would like to raise the temperature of my engine bay anymore, especially in Texas. :D

I want 2!!! one for bottom and one for the top

Dynamat hood liner acts as a noise reducer and heat shield. Its not going to rasie the temp much under the hood. Hell the hood is a heat shield. BIG ASS piece of solid metal remember. The hoodliner act as the heatshield so the paint and wax don't get F-d from the heat.

Actually the main purpose of that hoodliner in in case off fire. It's flame retardant, and melts to smother any engine fire. If you look at is there are several holes where the Vaccuum diagram is and whatnot, if it were for paint protection, don't you think they wouldn't but a big hole in it? :D :D

The main purpose for dynamat is noise reduction, paint, heat and everything else is a side effect for there market.

Duh, I was thinking you were talking about the stock one for some reason. Brain fart. :D

The stock didn't melt, just burned itslef up. I found that out when the original heashield over the turbo was backwards.
