My new friend, hello mazda forums =)

you should swing by sometime, once the weather gets a bit warmer you will probably see me out cleaning up the ride for show season

I checked out that site, but apparently, i have to become a premium member to look at a large majority of the forums, which means a fee? wouldnt be bad i guess, wouldnt mind coming to your feb meeting either since i wanna make a trip to vancouver this month with the lady.

on another note, im half considering doing a refinance on my p5 since the option was offered to me by another dealership i tried before. They had the laser one i wanted but sold and wouldnt give me money heh.

they now have a black 03, 124k in 5spd with leather and all the goodstuffs. I really really like white on my p5, but after reading the article on the parts needed and the work to convert it, im thinking the trade in, pay morefor the car by the end of my financing, might be a better idea than dropping like $3k into making mine manual.

then again, I like white so much more than black, and even if the black one has more options for the money, i can see myself painting white in the future which will cost what? $2000?
ah well. i guess thats still better than paying a transmission shop however much to fix what i $$%#^ up, and hey,i can say i have a newer car.
When they paint cars though, do they paint EVERYTHING? or am i still gonna have some old color on there? like under the sunroof, or in the engine bay? the hatch crack?

meh. I might just slap some exaust, intake and some wheels on my auto and call it a day. but there is that part of me that wants a racecar heh. definatly feeling the sluggishness of the auto.

one question though. how hard is it to lower a car yourself? Like, how much are spring compressors or is it better to find a shop to do it for me?. and when i convert the tranny to manual. should i just take all the parts to a shop and get them to do it? or give it a shot myself? was looking in the classies for some cheap stuff and thought i might start collecting the misc brackets and junk to do the conversion.

i did the eibach springs myself (well, with a friend of mine, i needed an extra set of hands...), and it actually wasnt too bad. for all four springs, it took about a good hour and a half. i bought cheap spring compressors and they did the job. the front springs were a lil more complicated, due to the fact that theres just more stuff to take off... like i said, wasn't bad at all, and its much cheaper to do it yourself. i didnt even have to get an alignment... lol, they were perfect!(burnout)

That's cause we live in Cali, everyone else gets to break and bend things because of all the rust!!! But yeah I agree don't pay someone to do springs!(bang)

Id be really curious to check out your smokin AT there woofer. we will definatly have to work something out around that. I live up at mckenzie ave, so its close. but i work a lot. so whenever i guess.
gonna go testdrive an 03 in a few days. 124k, 5 spd, black everything though. Mine has almost half the km on it and auto should be worth more, so if i trade,i should be able to do well on that one.

Welcome to the club!!! Bring your car out to an Autocross one day at Western. Then you'll really like your car! :D
