hey as soon as you get them on the car let us know how the ride is. I mean bounciness, clunking or just any noise at all.

Hey Wil, ...

I got instructions, but they were all in japanese. So no help there. Do you need detailed instructions on install?

Couple of things before you install them.

Cycle the adjustment knobs from all the way soft to all the way hard a few times (then leave it on all soft). The knob on my front right strut fell out, and I can't get it back in.

Set the camber plates to zero before you install.

To set spring preload, loosen the spring perches, then snug them up to the spring. Just enough so that there is no play, but WITHOUT putting any tension on the spring. Once you get to that point, a 1/4 turn should do it. Then tighten the locking ring withouth moving the spring perch.

Once that's set, get the height perch to within about two inches of the spring perch. This will put you in the ballpark of a 24" fender height (and will keep you from having to adjust the thing for a half hour while it's installed.)

The front brackets should have an elongated hole, I pulled the hub towards positive camber. When it was set all the way in (negative camber) the toe was so bad it would rub on the inside of the wheel well (completely undriveable).

Obviously, get an alignment when it's done.

Do me a favor if you get a chance, let me know what your rear camber is after the install.

You don't really have to wait for the sway bar, ... the sway bar is so easy in itself, ...

Hopefully, that helps, pm or e-mail me if you need any help/advice. I have some random pictures on this thread if they help.

Also, ... as far as the settings go, ... I'm not real sure.

I've tried quite a bit, and yes, they are bouncy (as much to do with the quality of the roads as anything else).

I'm currently running 5f/5r, ... I think the best I really ever found was 6f/7r. It SEEMS (all opinion) that if you stagger the front vs rear too far apart, it makes one end extremely bouncy.

And the seats have as much to do with the bounce as the roads do. Keep that in mind.

I'm not sure if I'm goign to keep them honestly, ... they are a bit harsh for a daily driver. But they change more than the way the car turns, ... (for the better that is).

If it is not too much trouble:D Thanks for the other info, it is really helpful! What are your going to do about that adjustment knob? What keeps them from falling out on the road?

ArkosP5

I looked at the other thread and all my questions were answered. Thanks again!

I superglued it in once (and it ended up coming back out). I've superglued it again, and it should stay (for now). I'm waiting on a rear camber issue, then I'll get around to fixing the adjustment knob.

Arkos please take a pic of the knob and the damper where it's missing from. I need to take care of this problem. Are you missing a 9mm nut that tightens it in place? I'm confused as to how this fell off. Please PM me.

Thanks, rishie

I love the ride quality but must be that I'm in Cali. It's not harsh to me at all and I run on 18" Volks.

Sorry to jack your thread Wil,

Rishie: It won't be until this weekend until I get pictures.

I'll try to explain the issue.

Ok, ... so the struts come with that extra adjustment knob right? A knurled disc with the hex sided post coming out of that.

The adjustments knobs on the struts have a smaller disc, and a smooth (non-hex) post that comes out of it. That piece fell out. That's the only piece that came off, there was nothing else attached to it, just the knob and the post.

So I stick the hex (the extra one) one up in the hole, and it DOES NOT TURN ANYTHING. There's a little bracket/mount that the post slides into, which actually turns (when you adjust the dampers). Underneath that is a 9mm nut that I couldn't move at all.

Here's a quick diagram. This shows it separated.

My front driver side knob is loose as well. The reason I say that; When I adjust the rears, they give me a definite click. The front passenger never did (and eventually fell out). The drivers side doesn't give me a definite click either. Imagine the post doesn't QUITE fit snugly, and if you apply too much pressure, the post slips. Almost like a rounded off nut.

Let me know Rishie,
