cuz, i want a car that has balls from stock... and there's one right in my nieghborhood... so ima pick that car up if the dealership buys it from the old one...

who wants to start a pot betting that his motor gives before he "has enough money to mod it so the cluster and the rest fo the shadyness does not matter?"

Oh my god, you have GOT to be the stupidest person I have ever tried to help. BUY A DIFFERENT MSP DAMMIT!!!!

You just have to be aware that the dealership cares s*** about you and if it breaks once you pull off the lot. NO matter the warranty b/c they know they will be getting the benifit either way. Mazda pays the dealership to fix your car, it's not like it's free. Also, people on this board are offering to drive the car to you so that defeats the statement of "I dont have the time". Just be smart in your decisions it will help you in the long run. I wish I knew in 7/03 that I know now. You have the benifit of people willing to offer any and all that they know of this car. The dealership that this car is at is only out to get you it's their business. Also the new dealership isnt going to buy the MSP from the other without a markup so you will be paying more for it.

You are beyond help... buy the damn car so you can learn this lesson on your own. You definitely deserve it.

first of all... its not 18k... its 15.5k... and im asking 14k...
not really. the dealer was at 18k + giving you 3k for your trade, so what they were in actuality selling the car for was 15k. now they took away the trade and are giving you 15.5k, so they're making more money and you're stuck with 2 payments

also, i really want to listen to u, but the cluster and radio don't mean s***...
in case you didn't notice, what the people on here are concerned about isn't the actual cluster or the radio, it's what changing them implies about the condition of the car. it's true that the cluster and radio don't mean anything in and of themselves, but try to look beyond that.

last, IM MODDING THE CAR MYSELF ANYWAY... NEW EVERYTHING, PISTONS, CAMS, POSSIBLE TURBO UPGRADE, ETC ETC ETC... THATS LATER, ITS NO BIG ****** DEAL IF I BUY THIS CAR...the car is for school/work... later its being modded after i've saved enough...
have you looked into pricing this stuff at all? i hope you have that much saved up in 6 months just in case

since you go to a tech school i would recommend doing a compression test on the engine before buying it since it is simple enough to do and it'll tell you a lot about the shape of some very important parts.

Honestly listen to some of what people are saying. I know what it's like to be so in love with a car that you don't care what people say but listen!

The cluster....why would someone replace it?
1) Falsify mileage
2) Modified and had to remove it
3) Theft recovery

Second issue. Carfax does not catch everything. My old Civic had been in a big ass wreck before I bought it. I carfaxed it before I bought the car, it showed up CLEAN with no accidents. There was body tapelines from bondo and repainting on the drivers side rear fender, but you could not see it at ALL unless you really stared hard at the car. It drove perfectly, no pulls or anything....Carfax is not 100%.

Also, the motor in Proteges is very weak, it doesn't take much to mess it up. My Protege before I sold it had a hard ass cold start knock, but guess what? When the car was at operating temperature you would never notice. i guess if you're going to buy that POS, make sure you get to listen to the motor when the temp needle hasen't moved yet....

what has carfax done to find out the condition of the car? all carfax does is record work that is reported to them. if the work is never reported, they don't know about it. i encourage you to check out the carfax of 505zoom or Brian MP5T, i'm guessing they also come up 100% clean because nothing bad has been reported about their cars.

carfax = squat, the dont know s*** unless someone reported it, do you think carfax goes out and looks at the cars? umm no they report paperwork

if the s*** was replaced there was a reason for it, and I highly doubt that it was a good reason

nono, the sticker price is now 15.5... then after the trade it'd be 12.5k... but ima take real good care of this car...
