Almost equal specs on either chip. I don't know if the APR one changes the REV or speed limiters like the AWE one does. Either way you'll have a real nice highway cruiser. My friend had a pearl white 2001 and it was SMOOTH on the highway. Nice classic lines too.

Rims make a big difference on that car. Saw a set of 18-19" polished Konig Imagines on a lowered black A4 before and it looked VERY nice.

The Revo chip i have been told has the best soft wear for the A4 and they stand behind their chip so ill probly go with that a EVO intake trubo back exaust and a DV Not a BOV. i should be around like 230-245 at the flywheel in a allwheel drive car, should be nice.

Either the apr or the revo are both great software. I suggest doing a search on forums.vwvortex.com

Not to scare you, but one of my friends had to rebuilt his motor on his 2001 A4 1.8t last year due to an oil pump failure.

got my wheels on and soon to be chipes and full exaust..

Might want to re-think the wheels... they're cheapening (for lack of a better word) the A4's beautiful classic lines.

hate to say it man, love the car... hate the wheels... though you will love it once you get it "chiped" had a friend who only mod he did was chip his 1.8t (vw gti) and my dear lord the power difference, i drove before and after and was very impressed..

i like the 19s it looks dum now it just nead to be lowerd.

s4 owner opinion

I owned an 2001 a4 before the s4. If you chip the car make sure you do it by a shop in your area that is an official dealer to that chip, so than if something is wrong you have someone close in your area to go to and complain. Most of the chips are pretty much the same. If you upgrade the wheels you have to do suspension and lower the car because it looks like a 4x4 if you don't, also if you ever upgrade the turbo on the a4 don't go below the gt28rs, the ko4 is only good if you plan on doing autocross, but beside that the k04 is pretty much weak. Also the a4 1.8T could handle about 350-400 hp without ever changing any of the engine internals or the tranny. The clutch will probably go if you launch it alot with that much horsepower.
