Take off the plastic rim covers...you'll be surprised what are underneath.
The same 17s are on my office car here. There's black rims under there!!

Take it off and snap a pic...

These rims are not 17"s. They are 18's on both the G8 V6 and G8 GT. The G8 GXP have 19"s.

I like the G8's, they got hit with some massive depreciation though. I wonder why?

There are 5 GTs within 100 miles of me for ~20k. All with <15k miles on them. That's like 10-13k depreciation hit in 1 year lol. Thats worse than my CX7 and it took a nasty hit!

I tried to get the wife to let me go get a used 2008 for 19,500 but she said no :(

Actually my wheels are 19's the 18's have a different pattern. I already have some LT Headers and x pipe w/ high flow cats coming from arh, and I'm waiting for a certain intake to be released and then I'm getting a tune for it all, should add close to 80rwhp.

We have to meet up some time soon man...maybe baytown one night soon after our upgrades. I should have the gt30 in and running tip top in a week or two.

Completely different.

My cousin told me tonight that she has ordered new wheels and tires for her's.

Oops...sorry I have the G6 @ work.
They are 17s.

But regardless...if the wheels are like the ones I have on my work sedan....then the silver spokes are plastic and underneath it are black steel/metal alloys or something.

I'm gonna have to do it @ work before I leave Turkey and snap a pic.

Sounds like fun. :)

Only thing that comes off are the little black lugnut covers, and the black center cap with the Pontiac logo.

I'm sure it'd be possible to do a transmission swap to the 6 speed planted in the Corvettes. I'm sure the bolt pattern is identical.

Unless, you know, you want an automatic. Weirdo. :P

You have a really nice car! I read about the G8 in Motor Trend back in 2007 and was trying to convince my wife into buying it as a replacement for her Acura TLS. Unfortunately, my wife decided on getting something more practical since the other two vehicles we have are a Z06 Corvette and a Mercedes SL55, so we purchased a CX9.

I like the CX9 but would have preferred the G8 for a family/practical car. 25 mpg highway is not bad considering the 361 hp and 4000 lb weight. My Z06 gets 29 mpg on the highway and is rated at 385 hp.

You got rid of a TL-S for a Mazda? That is the worst decision I have ever heard of. I would've sold the Mercedes for a G8 GXP or GT. Not the TL-S. That TL-S must have been such a nice car...only need to take it in for oil changes and nothing ever breaking, you should've kept it. IMO.

The C5 and on covettes have rear mounted transmissions. A manual out of a GTO or the new Camaro will swap right in.

The TL-S was a nice car. However it was severely hail damaged and on its 2nd transmission. The '02s were plagued with transmission problems. My wife didn't care for the look of the new TL-S and she was in the mood for a crossover SUV. We looked at quite a few of them and wound up with the CX9.

There is nothing wrong with an CX-9. It compares well either a ML and X5 for half the price.

Ohhhhh...I assumed it was a new (07-08) model and was wondering why you would ever get rid of it. The first gen TL's were plagued with terrible transmissions, dunno if you know that, but one's that are around today are lucky to be on their second.
My mistake, then yea I would've totally gotten something that wasn't a Mazda. lol (or did she check out the MDX sport? those are beast!)

sweet car man! My next ride will be the g8 gxp if I can't convince the wife to let me get the new camaro. She thinks I need 4 doors for some reason lol...

I agree I had the CX-9 as a loaner a few times while my MS6 was worked on. I loved it very peppy! same engine turbo and Awd package as the MS6. But if you really want that goofy ass automatic Mopar sell the Benz.

I think you're talking about a CX-7 with the turbo 4-banger. CX-9 has V6.
