I don't believe you can get that deck anywhere in NA.
How are you liking it? even more difficult to use then the stock kenwood? I believe there's over 10 different colour display!

Looks too bright to me.
I set all the options on my kenwood to be plain and simple, therefore not blindingly bright at night.
It just shows track, track time and real time, or radio station if it's on the radio.
Nice and simple.

that's cool steph. I almost bought something similar. I saw a Kenwood one on Ebay almost identical to it and wanted to do the same thing, but since it came from Japan I didn't know if there was going to be any troubles installing it, troubles with language etc.

Kinda wish I got it now. Looks good. I hate having that extra din in my dash, and not having anything to put in it.

Personally, I'd leave the black part alone. Looks fine. Only paint it silver if you can match it identical to the rest, otherwise, it'll look kinda strange.

the deck opens with two buttons on the top left and top right. It is MD & CD both.
I got it from japan when i went about two years ago. Approx: $700 US dollars

The only difference is in the radio stations, everything on the deck is in english (aside from the directions) and it's pretty cool. I make new cd's less often than her so I'd always curse at the radio it goes from 74-89mhz and thats it!

You could always get an FM band expander to get the full 88-108mhz. One of my friends did this for a Japanese head unit, but I forget where he got the part from. The only place I could find them in was not in the US. This is the link:

How much power is that deck pushing out?
Are you getting good radio reception with the new deck?

i got a less expensive japanese deck.

mine changes 10 colors too. i wanted this one but it was too much

i thought this sony was nice too

but your deck looks good. i hate how japanese decks have no theft protection (ie detachable face ect..). they dont have to worry about it as much as we do i guess.

ShawntheMonster, That last deck with the two gauges, I have also. Japan is a really safe place to live. At resturants they leave the chairs out at night. LOL we tie them up here
