My Impreza progress thread

Match is perfect. No blending. Just painted the doors.

Have you parked in a parking garage a night to check the match? I had my old p5 painted and in the right conditions it was so far off that it wasn't funny. However in direct sunlight it appeared to have matched perfectly.

Did you think about pulling the molding and filling the holes? I bet it would look really clean!

I did think about that in fact I almost did that but then I realized I would have to do it to the other side as well which means I would have to paint the doors on the other side as well.

I have had it parked in my garage and it looks perfect there. Not sure if a parking garage would be any different though.

you waxed the doors already? thats not good...

Yah, I know of that rule which is why I let the clearcoat dry for a couple weeks before I even installed the doors. So should be ok. The wax has not seamed to have had any affect on the paint at this point.

Went to a suby meet last Sunday and took some pics, here ya go!:

7/29/10 UPDATE:

So after about 3 weeks of on and off work in my garage the rear brake swap is finally finished! Swapped my drum brakes in for WRX rear brakes. Ran into a few snags but got her done. Onto pics:

Got the drums off:

Ran into a snag. Passenger side axle was seazed inside hub housing.
Tried getting it out with about 7 tons of pressure but did not work:

So I took it to someone with a press and after 9 tons! of pressure, and after braking the cast iron hub in half if finally came out:

THE HUBB:

So got a few more parts and it all went pretty smooth from then on, lots of work though!

Painted the calipers:

The car is an auto X champ now! Stops on a dime!

Well should be trying to put on my light weight front bumper beam next, not sure it will work with my fog lights though. We shall see. Later all! Godbless! Dan

Sweet. Yah, we do need to do another drive. There is a Subaru meet tomorrow in Spokane if ya want to come with. Can't go to to Silverwood that day though. The 21st is my wife and I's 5th anniversary. There is also a super big subaru meet/show/camp that weekend that I won't be able to go to. That's ok though. Family is more important that car's.

You should learn that!"

lol Thank you holy spirit for direct port nitrous injection, ball bearing turbos, and titanium valve springs. Ahmen. lol

I could quote those movie's all day.

Sorry I did not get back to you in time. The meet was a little boaring, did not miss much. We should do another meet though. Think about it.

Different lighting in a parking garage im sure. Try it for s**** and giggle and walk far away from the car. Then look at it and see how good the match is.

Yah, I tried it and the match is perfect. (breakn)
