I posted a want ad on dimequarterly.tierranet.com and I got a call yesterday from a guy not 5 miles from my place.

LOOK WHAT I FOUND!

1971 Datsun 510 2 door

3000 miles on the rebuilt L18 Weber DGV, resonator removed, original seats are GREAT. 2nd OWNER!
Electronic ignition, dont remember what type, but not alison.
Orange shag carpet that needs to go. 4SPD Needs a 5 bad.)
NO RUST! Best looking floorboards I have ever seen on a 510.
used to be orange, then blue, now white.

What it needs....
New front suspension/steering bushings, and a better motor IMO. SR20DET FO SHO!
240Z struts w coilovers, bigger wheels, slotted cross member.

Oh man I may buy this next week at a steal, and the guy has never even listed it for sale! He wants to sell to me cuz he can come see it! He says he just doesnt drive it anymore. He has owned it since the year I was Born. 1980. Sits in garage, covered. So original, so clean

Yeah I am pretty sure I am gonna get this one. If not I will get this one....
it has a stronger motor, a 5 spd and bubble flares. More to not be done by me, but no rear seat and I think this other one may have years of back registration due...

ok topped by the guys house on the way home from work, and he said he was mulling it over all day, seeing comcast trucks everywhere thinking about me.
He said me stopping buy made him confident I am serious and will take care of it.
So in short, HE IS GONNA SELL!!!! YAY!
its the first one, not the flared one, which i got a better look at yesterday, and it has NO interior, and ha been no-opped since 96. It also has no head liner either.

So an all original For ME!!!! YAYAY!
Have to settle on price, and I have to sell the 4Runner.
