my Hiboost FMIC and relocated MAF sensor

sunday i installed my HiBoost FMIC kit on my MSP. it was great, i left the vacuum source connected to the stock recirc. valve and as such never had any stalling issues (basically kept the HKS from working).

today i bought a couple reducer couplings and moved the MAF into the compressor side, directly between the HKS and the TB. the car runs smooth as silk, i dunno if i can be any happier. :)

details: kit took a bit over 4 hours to install. the toughest part was ******* around with the piping to get it all lined up. i didn't have any directions, but i have installed enough turbo crap in my day that i just sorta went with what i thought would work. after reading up on some other installs, the only thing i forgot to do was put the rubber stopper on the bottom of the radiator support (D'OH!) since it was stuck on the bottom of the stock SMIC's support post.

the MAF was a piece of cake. remove stock MAF, cut an extra 1/4" either direction on the charge pipe, and plugged it all back up.

Nice work. I have the HiBoost kit on my car, i'm venting and recirculating. Did you just cut out the width of the Maf in you hardpipe? Also do you have a CAI on your car?

Exactly what I did.... but I have since reversed. I just sold my HiBoost with the pipe already cut for the MAF, I also loved the setup. Right now it is back in the stock position and I have yet to open it up. Since I have the AFC, it seems to run fine with it in the stock position as well. You might want to rotate it and level it off for the plenums sake.... but it probably does not matter. It heats the plenum and sees how long it takes to cool, then correlates that with airflow. So... position might or might not matter.
