Kinda old news (deadhorse but i figured i'd put something in, i got contacted by beau and he told me that he is in the final stages (3-4 wks) of remaking my 1gen street sleeper kit do to the missing parts that i never got to see when i finally came home from alaska this summer05. Luckily it won't cost as much as i though which is good but the one thing i still (scratch) wish i did was buy a laptop because i doubt it would be a good idea to hook my desktop to the mpi in the car even if i went and bought a converter (although the thought has floated through the mind a few times) So i will be looking at the mail to see when i get it and hopefully i'll get most of it together with little problem (laugh) but i will need some help when it comes to the tunning part mostly cuz it has alot going on (homework) .

I've got a laptop with the MPI software already on it for tuning mine. Let me know when the stuff comes in and I can help you with the install. I can try to get some maps from people that are running the sleeper kit and that way we will have some base maps for tuning your car.

GET A WIDEBAND!!! I can't stress this enough because it is a MUCH safer way to tune the car. I would take the money that you are going to spend on a laptop and get a wideband gauge instead. You can use my laptop whenever you need adjustments, which shouldn't be too often if you aren't changing boost levels. I would offer to let you use my wideband for the initial tuning, but the wiring on the AEM is retarded and there is no way in hell I am taking it out of there, lol. I would have to cut all of the like 12 wires and resolder them to get it into your car, and then cut and resolder them again to get it back in my car... aint gonna happen, lol.

Glad to see it is coming together though... hit me with a PM when you get the stuff because I rarely ever check this section.

Is it possible to splice into the frist o2 to hook up the gauge or would that distort it in away the would give me a non-correct reading because I may just run the wires through my firewall (like all others) so i can see the ratio inside. do you think that would work or no? But just to give you some info that may help if you do run into some people that has a good starting point i have a done a few things to the engine but nothing drastic. I have both cams Intake-ze, msp exhaust, 2.5 meagn cat-back, Ur flywheel & pully everything else is a non-issue relating to the turbo kit. I'll have to ask beau when he get everything straightend out if he is including the guage cause i bought the first gen kit that had alot of stuff included give me a few and i'll post something.

The 1st gen kit doesn't come with a AFR gauge. You can hook up a narrowband to the first o2 sensor, but a narrowband is NOT what you want to use... AEM or Innovative wbo2 is what you want, and they are close to about 400 bucks.

I will get some maps here for you for startup.:)

cool I guess I'll buy a wide band although i been wondering if i will have to drill another bung into the Mani to tune it without throwing a cel because i had to take out the oem o2 to put in the wide-band. In any case i was wondering that how did y'all hook up the wide-band and us it to tune the car? Also i still haven't gotten my kit back but last time i looked my ticket got responded to and they have a new est of a couple of weeks and that was said last week which is good cuz I'm starting to feel bad having told all my friends that I'm getting a kit in such-and-such wks but still have to kit to show for (very depressing). Beside that say 505 when is the next time you think you'll open to help put my kit together and tune it (if i get it back within the next week or two)? They way i plain on doing it is hooking up as much as possible which would include drilling the oil pan, installing the mani, turbo, DP, blow off, inter cooler and most piping But not connecting the turbo system to the intake as well as not connecting the MPI. Instead leaving the cold air system in so i can drive it around without as normal but probably less power do to the turbo being connected causing more back pressure than normal even though I don't have a working second cat . I don't plain on racing or pushing the car just to get the sound but i figured this would be a good way to get a jump start before making a trip to see you if yo don't mind helping me with the MPI tuning. I also don't mind paying you for your help though i ain't rich.
