wow!, scary s*** greg, diane...were u in the car?
oh no--thank God I wasn't. If I had been, I probably wouldn't be posting right now.

I was riding with Patrick and we were in front of Josie. I watched in the rear view mirrors in horror...

Sweet pic! I am really glad you two are ok. It was great meeting you two, but wish it would have been better under better circumstances. I definitely will be back!

My baby is gone!!! I just went to the yard to see josie in the day light and I can't believe that I walked away from her with out a scratch.
When I lost control I thought to myself " s***, we are going into the ditch". When I got to the ditch I figured "well what now!"
As her ass went up in the air I had so many thoughts go through my head I counldn't think straight. Then it was like one thought pushed it's way to the front of the line " DUCK YOUR HEAD!!" I grabbed the underneath of the steering wheel and pulled my head in as close to my knees as possible and held on for the ride. Luckly the air bag did not go off!!! Once Josie stopped I crawled out and assured Diana that I was fine. Patrick thank you for all your help. I am not by any means mad at you or upset. Things happen for a reason and I think you are right, better things are in my future. I will post pix when I get them.

I met up with Will, and his wife (WShade) who in good hospitality put me up for the night at his house. Learned a lot about my car just from being in his presence. (No we did not race!) Thanks for everything!

You are always welcome here! We enjoyed your stay.

Very cool trip Linux....

Need to have somethin like that here in DC.
Too bad, sad ending for your car Mazdaspdgrl and Repu. I know it hurts when something you love so much like your favorite ride, bites the dust. (Well actually my car...blew up in the middle of the road,Civic HBsi) Anyhow you walked away from it unscathed and that's what matters...I was in a similar situation back in the days, and my friend bought a brand new Maxima and decided to race me on the twisties. I had a Talon. I let him ahead of me to let him know it is over but he kept on punchin it...and spun out 360 on a curve....I just remember seeing his glasses flying off his face in the cabin...then Blam...down the ditch. Brand new car....totaled. He walked away from it fine, but his dad made sure he didn't walk away from it.(chair):D

10AE is the latest body style...right? Not to privy with MX-5 info yet.
Yes, the 10AE is the latest body style. :)

Here's the miata downlow:

There are currently two miata generations.

1990 - first year model produced,with 1.6L engine only
1996 - 1.8L was introduced
1999 - the 2nd gen miata body style was introduced with a VVT 1.8L

Interesting miscellaneous facts:
*there was no 1998 miata, as the next bodystyle was introduced in late 1997 as the 1999
*the headlights were changed in 2001 from standard halogens to projector halogens
*the renowned Power Plant Frame was first used in the miata, but is more known from the 3rd generation RX-7.Isn't that cute? they share the same chassis design...:D

If you want a breakdown of all the special editions that the miata came in, we'll need a new thread, as there are a LOT.

thanx..man, sad to hear of a new car being totalled like your friend's..

I'm sorry, but as serious as that situation was I can't help but laugh at the thought of your friend's glasses flying off his face...
heh...I had a head-on wreck back in 96 and back then I wore glasses regularly. somehow, my glasses landed in the truck bed of the truck I was driving! no, it didn't have a sliding glass rear window...lol
